I know, it was me. I want Ciro sacked so badly so i made sure Diego would miss. Thats why i come back here to defend him now on this thread.
Good for you
The laser did not hit his eye, you could see it on the replay.
Actually it did, and even if it had not it was still bothering him. I am sure he is already distracted by all the criticism aimed at his form and that laser pointer was only further aggravation
Diego Ribas da Cunha, I have faith in your ability,

under Guus Hiddink.
Same, Diego is an exceptional player despite his poor form
He should not take penalty kicks if he's low on confidence. Simple as that.
So what do you suggest? One of the other players who is just bursting with confidence take it? He should continue to take Pks, rotating him out will just hurt his confidence even further.

Just to clarify, when I said earlier that Diego missed on purpose I was joking, anybody who actually believes that is retarded

Diego def wants Ciro to get sacked. The penalty (screw the laser, Diego would have missed it anyway), and i also remember him laughing in the Bayern game when he was sitting on the bench. I am pretty sure he was laughing about Ciro.

I think our other players just have too much respect or class to come out on Ciro publicly, lets remember that a few weeks ago Diego already criticized coaching methods.
This is true. It seems far-fetched and I'm not sure why I believe it (this is me setting someone up for the classic "because you're an idiot" response), but I can't wrap my head around Diego's prolonged dip in form (this is me setting someone up for the classic "because he's a shit player" response) when compared to his earlier performances.

To further prove my point, this is from later november:

Diego: “It’s not a fitness issue, it is an organisational one,” he told Tuttosport before apparently calling into question boss Ciro Ferrara’s methods.

“Ferrara must identify these problems and explain to us how to solve them because we have to get out of this situation.”

Yes, I would have preferred someone else to take it. Trez for example seems to be enjoying a good run of form.

One of the few players who played with fight and determination tonight, quite frankly made Trez's goal and had an overrall good game. Haters shut the fuck up.

i think the main reason behind his poor form is he simply doesnt enjoy playing for this team

its all over his face..his expression say it all
Who the fuck can enjoy playing for this Juve playing in this way? Ofcourse his face tells the story, thats perfectly right to feel like that, he works his ass off, and you clearly see how stressed and frustrated he is. How much he cares.

Diego: «I think we played a good match and we had many opportunities to win the match»

Notwithstanding the fact that he missed a decisive penalty, Diego had a good match and even a fair share in Trezeguet’s goal.

«I think we played a good match :shifty: and we had many opportunities to win the match. We must continue like this because I don’t think that another match like this won’t happen. We must remain united and things will definitely get better. We created many opportunities but the result was unfair with us».

Having missed a decisive penalty hurts but it must be overcome: « I hit the ball badly. I was sure to score but these things happen. I had the opportunity of arranging the result and I missed».

Asked whether the change in position has helped him feel more at ease on the field the Brazilian answered: «I always played in a position which I like. Sometimes I have to change. Today I played in a position which is more customary to me. However, I am part of a team and even though I think I have an important place in this team, I play well when the team plays well».

Did Tuesday’s match affect the team tonight? : «It was not the case of being still with our minds on Tuesday’s defeat. As long as I wear the Juventus jersey I will give all I can».

Diego should have been a man enough to stop and go to referee and say that he cant take the pen. He didnt even go accuse the lazer for his miss, which he could have. He doesnt mention laser on his post-match either.

he was concentrating on the penalty. Maybe he thought that was just a camera flash. Who'd think that his own fans would try to block his vision anyway!

His second half performance was really bad, though.

leave him alone, he will be great if his manager finds out how nad where to play him

One of the most promising creative geniuses in europe, goes to Juve, a dream come true, for him and us, then finds himself under the guidance of no doubt the worst manager he has ever played for...He deserves more. as do we.
