I was reading an interview for De Stéfano on UEFA.com when I read this:

Many different versions of the events that led to Di Stéfano joining Madrid still exist today, one more episode in the great rivalry between Real Madrid and its Catalan foe. Di Stéfano is both reluctant and eager to talk about the matter. "They had a hell of a fight among themselves. Barcelona did not understand they had to negotiate with River Plate rather than with Millonarios. At one point they wanted to send me to Juventus, just like a package, I got really mad and threatened to go back to Argentina!" Finally, Madrid ended up with the priceless new recruit.

I doubt anybody can answer this, but why was he refusing joining Juve??
