8.1 possessions lost

He better just give the ball to Loca every time.

In games I seen (previous season, not this one). Most of his lost possession were him running with the ball and trying to dribble half the mids/defence in counters. This a common playstyle and attitude in bundesliga, because they all about high press and counter runs with the ball etc.

His actual passing is good enough, unlike Benta who forces himself to miss his passes alot, wether infront of our box or in attack.

While Zakaria more like an Ndombele type, they have this all action attitude where they wanna be like a Vieira or Yaya Toure, and just run with the ball and try to dribble through everyone with too much confidence at times lol.

Ndombele has better technique so tends to work more there, while he is just lazy and erratic in attitude. While Zakaria just pushed through opponents with or without the ball. Just a bulldozer that doesn't give up even if he just lost it. Very reactive and allways on the move type, risky playstyle.

But yeah he is more defensive type even if he is all around b2b. It will be curious to see how he would look in our more slower tempo of too many back passes, then the more high tempo counter game.

So with DV and DZ in and Bentancur and Kulu possibly out…

what system will we be playing? Seems like Allegri might be thinking of the 352 or 4312

We don’t seem to have any depth now on the wings particularly with the Chiesa injury
352 makes most sense to make use of MDS and get some width and also works better to set up vlahovic as target man..also an extra CB in there would balance us as we lack tenacity in midfield but as you know we have lack of CBs...(also I think 3CB system frees up Bonucci more to make use of his long passing)
4312 looks decent against lower teams but Dybala in front of our soft midfield is a gaping hole and unbalanced.
So 352/3421 but idk how we'd solve the CB issue right now unless Rugani hits puberty..

Yes he is but for a mid-table club. Decent at best too.

However, if it was up to me I would rather sell Rabiot, Arthur and Ramsey before selling Bentancur. But that doesn't mean Bentancur is good, just better than the trash we've pilled up over the years.
Our midfielders for me go:

Starting XI quality: Locatelli

Bench/rotation quality:
Mckennie (young enough to have upside)
Bentancur
Arthur (absurd cost and salary makes him too expensive to be a bench option)

Trash:
Rabiot
Ramsey

In a ideal world we’d keep Locatelli, Bentancur, Mckennie. Bring back Rovella and possibly Fagioli too. And sign 1 top class CM. But Bentancur is one of our only CMs we can actually sell, and for a decent amount. So replacing him with a cheap Zakarias is alright as it is like for like and makes us money. I’d like to see Ramsey, Rabiot, Arthur all gone in summer, replace by a top CM, Rovella, and Fagioli, but I suspect two at most shall leave.

And Viera and Ndombele. Very different players with only one thing in common

I wonder why no one is drawing comparisons with a Henderson or Marchisio or a Matic....

Vieira is decent comparison in terms of playstyle and type of player he is.

I only mentioned Ndombele for having the overconfident approach of trying to run and dribble that reminds me of that guy a little. But otherwise nothing like eachother, Ndombele more attacking player.

I pretty much agree from what I’ve seen. It might be a problem fielding him next to Blasi, but he should be fine as long as he isn’t trying to run with the ball through midfield all the time, which won’t fly in Italy. With Loca next to him I’m not really worried. He certainly isn’t Sissoko.

That being said, that 6-0 drubbing against Freiburg in December worries me a little… but the defense was horrible.

You’re just using the Vieira comparison since they’re both black.

Etoo is the only true comparison, maybe Thuram, Henry, Weah, Bellingham, Sturidge, Drogba, Carew, Essien, Cisse, and Kante tho
