No, Davids' contract is until 2004 and Trezeguet's and Del Piero's are until 2005. Do you always have to be so damn stubborn??? :fero:

I can't see him finishing his career with Juve. I think Juve will re-sign him and cash in on him like they did with Zidane, Baggio, Inzaghi. Juve is entering a new era with Miccoli, Appiah, and Leggrotaglie, and IMO, the likes of DP, Davids, and Nedved will not be with us much longer.

Del Piero pens new deal
Posted by Alex | Football Italia

Juventus have announced that Alessandro Del Piero has signed a four-year contract extension.

The Bianconeri captain, who only had a year left on his current deal, is now tied to the club until 30 June 2008.

Del Piero had stated recently that he was close to agreeing terms and the Italian champions announced this morning that a deal was done.

The Italian international will net himself around £5.7m a season, of which around £1.6m will consist of image rights.

The former Padova youngster, who joined Juve in 1993, will now probably end his career in Turin as he will be 34 when his new agreement expires.

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread:

I dont like this. The deal is waaaaay too long, 5 more years! I personaly would have given him a 1 year extension with and option for 1 more year for the same wage, or two more with a wage cut. It will expire when he's 34 for God's sake!!! He could be a bloody flop earning 8 mil € per year. I dont expect him to be this good for more than the next 2 years, until he's 31 or 32. After that he'll start to lose form fast, just like Rui Costa, Rivaldo or Batistuta.

NOT a good deal IMO :(

eh, if he is a flop we can sell him, i don't think any coach will continue to play him if he is not good and if he is left on the bench i am sure he will want to leave the club but i am pretty sure at that time Juve will renegotiate a new contract with him and he will end his career quietly like the likes of Ferrara and Conte. It is sad to imagine that we have reached the last chapter of Del Piero with us. By the time this deal expires he will have been with us for 15 years, damn that's long and it's been great.

There's noone to guarantee us we'd be able to sell him.

And plus, why the hell should he new contract when he's got a golden parachute?

Sorry, as far as the forum is aware, you have 25 posts, do a search by your username to verify it.

EDIT: I double checked and yep, you have 26 posts. Unless you've used a different account in the past, this is it.
