we need to accept, that grygera is a full back that is better going forward then defending ...

yes, he does deliver crappy crosses from the half line, but when he goes forward especially near the box he has a pretty good shot on him and adds to the offence, when you use him properly...

it is like with the other full backs (or better wing backs) like bosingwa, just on a lower level ... if you expose bosingwa with pressure, we will make his fair amount of mistakes, just like grygera ...

our problem is, that the games we attacked grygera did look good (remember the game he scored that screamer ?)

but if we let our opponents press us than grygera gets exposed and looks crap ... so it's not like he is a totally crap player, but the system we play or better the attitude of letting the game be controlled by the opponent just does not fit him.

and that he is a very limited player, who can only be marginally effective under some very certain circumstances.

Thats what i meant when i was saying that we need to upgrade the percentage of quality starters in our team. Those tools, like Zebina, Grygera, Marchionni, Legro, Molinaro etc etc, can only be effective when placed around quality players.
They cant make a difference by themselves and should have been our priority to enhance that percentage. Since we can all agree that we cant do that in just one season, this process should have started some time ago.
But we have chose to maximize our chances for momentary gains instead,
we won nothing and dint only wasted the current year, but also compromised our plans for the future too...

i say it again ... it could have gone even worse if we had bought lets say 2 stars instead of the 4 or 5 mediocre players we got.

with our injury crisis we would have had to even field 2 or 3 of primavera players instead of our mediocre marchionni and grygeras .... i dare to say it could have even come worse in terms of results with unexperienced teenage players under pressure because our stars are all injuried

we now have the depth that we can at least field two players for each position (and that without counting the inexperienced youngsters). If we do add 2 good players now and we do not get so many injuries next season we can well mount a challenge on the scudetto

The quality of this depth is useless though and we have lost so many points even when we had more useless options on the bench.
I dont think that any case we could have ranked lower than the 3#, we are now,
just like we did last year.
But with two extra quality starters already in our our squad and two acquisitions more this summer, we could field a really competitive squad next season.
We gained nothing and the competitive squad is now practically unreachable...

I can tell you watch two Juventus games per year... the ones played against Genoa.

we are the only team in world football that plays with a defensive line so high
imo we played always like that (last 15 years) - its our system, its part of our style, part of how we created this famous juve pressure on the field to our opponents (BEFORE FARSOPOLI). BUT u need the right players for it otherwise it ends like this year...

i was dissapointed when deCeglie got injured bc he was near to overcome molinaro. i have great faith in deCeglie. may hes the only position we can risk something next season (w/ Criscito) - all other departments (CB,RB,RM,LM) must be filled with QUALITY.
