I don't understand the sentiment that he is immune to criticism. He is paid far more than any other player in the club, any other player in the league itself. He is expected to score these half chances too, not just hit them into the keeper or wide of the post.
And yes, there are of course the freekicks. What should be at least a chance of a goal automatically goes to 0 because it is insisted that he takes them all for some reason.

If you refer to the chance he missed .
The ball was going behind his back . He did the most he could with that chance .
Because he is tall he managed to hit . If that was me at 1.72 ,I wouldn't even reach it .
That wasn't a clear cut chances . That was a do the best you can chance.

He should have done better from the chance when he found himself right infront of the keeper, eventhough the ball was a bit behind him. But other than that we didnt create much for him. Our midfield was rubbish. How many of his runs into the box did Rabiot or Berna pick? 0 would be the answer.

Lukaku has now tied him in the Serie A top scorer chart. He has a GOAT legacy so it won't take a hit if he never wins the Serie A golden boot. But it will feel strange looking back 10 years from now and seeing him miss out on the award to the likes of Quagliarella, Immobile and whoever takes it from him this season (if they do).
With that said, if he does miss out I don't see Lukaku taking it from him. Zlatan or Immobile are more likely option IMO.
