I think Roma pay almost the same sum with Leicester offer, the difference is the structure. Leicester offer 30m cash, while Roma 26m + 4m bonuses
On that time we expect Leicester to bid for 35m (our asking price), didnt know the offer is come or not, but because Soule only want Roma, then we asked for Roma to match that 35m (that is why we get the 26+4m valuation +10% sell on clause)

The 10% sell on clause probably is our estimation of his next sale value of 50m to cover at least we get 35m from him in total

Forgot about the 10% sell-on fee. Sounds about right. So selling 'way below market value' is still a huge stretch at best.

We have to account for the human factor too. Marotta for instance was a fabulous directour but known as a notoriously bad seller. In the long run it helps when players know you won't squeeze them like a lemon but help to find the right solutions for all parties.

Soulé for example acted very professionaly as far as I can tell so we shouldn't be the demons too. Having the money upfront would've helped ofc. But it's not a massive difference.

Doesn't matter who offered more anyway as he said he was only interested in Roma. We accepted more from a Saudi club in Jan but he wouldn't move there. Clubs don't control everything anymore, it's not like the Moggi days.
Sometimes even Moggi couldn't convince our players either. Sporting Lisbon were ready to exchange the young Cristiano Ronaldo with our world class striker Marcelo Salas. But the injury prone Salas refused to go to a much smaller club so the exchange was cancelled.

if he gets nico gonzalez for 30m i will be very happy. i won't forgive him for the 4th goalie but this would be a great coup for a really good winger who could become even better in a good team

Dusan missed few sitters so result doesnt say much here. He also blocked Yildiz effort that would tie the score. Gui has some work to do in defense but Luiz and Thuram are miles ahead of any of our current mids.
We’ll see about that. I like Thuram a lot but he might not make as big of an impact as Rabiot at least initially.

I think player like Thuram will be more consistent throughout the game and will make others play better. Same for Luiz. These guys might not score as much but they wont have off times like we have seen with Rabiot when he would completely switch off.

I'm more worried about having a #9 that won't score.

How many matches have we seen when we're playing fine but keep missing chances then all of the sudden we're 2, 3 goals down?

We need wingers and a #9 that does his job.
Agreed. Vlahovic has missed countless chances over the last number of years and as much as I hated Allegri I think Vlahovic should of been held more of accountabile for the amount of wasted chances and points lost.

number 9 is fine imo, but needs support from wingers and midfield.

not every striker can have consistency of lewandowski or harry kane. he needs support from wingers and midfield
