Actually, maybe winning the Cup is not such a good thing at this time for it may cover up the bad situation in which Juve is and it can get certain people, important people, to think that maybe things are not so bad in Juventus and that they should extend the contracts of Tiago and Poulsen to an unlimited time....
That's one of the most retarded logics I've come across on football talk.

Anyway.

Chiellini's absence worries the shit out of me :scared:

Diakite, Pandev, Manfredini and Inzaghi 100 % out!
They got Foggia, Dabo and Brocchi available...

Carrizo, Muslera, Rozehnal, Cribari, Radu, De Silvestri, Kolarov, Lichtsteiner, Siviglia, Foggia, Brocchi, Dabo, Meghni, Del Nero, Ledesma, Mauri, Matuzalem, Rocchi e Zarate.

Comming with only to 2 strikers in Torino!??

Far from a miracle, 1-0 is possible, but I think Lazio are quite dangerous right now, so prepare for a tough game.

I know but Cron is sure that our weak defense, especially without Chiellini, can't keep a clean sheet so he's sure that we'll concede at least one piece.

Ok, so be it, but why does he think that scoring 2 and conceding 1 would be a miracle?

He keeps saying ever since our defeat in Rome in the first leg that we're as good as eliminated from the Coppa and we'll need a miracle to make the final.

We will have it bit tough, especially lately home games havent been much of an advantage us at all, but yeah very silly to say we need a miracle when its just 1 goal difference, and we can even win with the away goal rule.

We always had problems facing Lazio. They were always a tough team, one of the toughest in seria A.
They can be physical and completely destroy a game simply by abusing such behavior. An ugly goalless game is totally within their reach.
We also used to be a strong team and at times we could abuse that superiority against the smaller teams.
But not against Lazio and in a lesser extend, against Milan.

Those two teams were also able to disable our air superiority.
Almost as efficiently as the EPL teams.
They had tall and strong players, able to provide with air space denial.
Therefore we could not even penetrate their defense from set pieces either.
Those set pieces saved us from similar situations, against the smaller teams.

For these reasons, it has been always particularly hard to face this team, despite us having the quality superiority at times.
They are not as strong as they used to be, but the same thing can also be said for us too.
They have preserved their spirit and so did we.

Indeed, i dont trust that this defense and esp without Chiellini and Sissoko, will resist against their very swift forwards.
Who can easily kill us off on counterattacks and even when we try to defend without one dedicated DM, as they have proved on the first leg.
If we hold back, we wont score, if we open up, we will concede at least one goal.
They have noticed our weakness when we open up and i am sure that they will abuse the vertical passes to exploit this weakness in our offside trap.
They know what to do to break us and we dont have the necessary tools to push them back for good.
They have the morale, form, the tactical and the score advantage.
Realistically we do need a miracle to overcome this object.

Conceding just one goal in 90' is a possibility, but not if we open up to score 3.
If we try a conservative approach, we will never have the time to score 3.
If we fire with every caliber from the start, we will concede more than 1.
If we play more than 90' our chances to concede one more goal increase by the minute. The numbers are on their side!

PS, i hope that CR will not be scared this time and wont give the order to fall back after we score the first goal, like he did in the first game, when we were dominating. IMO the 3-1 is our safest bet.
But he is such a p@ssy, he wont dare to risk that.
This act of cowardice was the reason we reached here from the first place...
And i would also prefer Manninger, instead of Buffon for this game...

This has turned out to be the game of the season for us!!

Actually, Lazio arent so physical at all, more technical and quick. They were dominated by Milan and Inter because their midfields bullied their physically weak mids. Meghni, Ledesma, Brocchi, Matuzalem and their 4 offensive players (Zarate, Rocchi, Pandev and Foggia), all small(er) guys, and not so strong at all, their defenders are normal size, Rozenhal is tall, but skinny and not physical presence perse, Siviglia and Kolarov are normal big (their taller bigger players are those on the bench, De Silvestri and Mauri). They can defenitely be physically dealt with, they have bit small players. Milan game in particulat Gattusso alone ran over their midfield completely.

Seen the same in other games, they lack strenght to dish at tackles or challenges in midfield, and their attack are short guys who suffer alot with aireal challenges (Siviglia is the header specialist for them in set pieces, and he aint too good at it), so I must say you have a wrong idea about them for sure. What they are, are quick and technical, they work with fast transistions and one-two plays.

And please, stop saying that we realistically need a miracle to overcome a 2-1 away loss.

Btw. We used to have them as a boogey team from the days of Fiore and Liverani, in last years, we havent have had issues with them at all, actually the coppa loss is the first time we lost against them in 4 years I am guessing. Our last home game against them in last season was 5-2, and the away game was 2-0 with Ale brace and the great assists of Zanetti. This seasons away game was Manninger blunder and then Mellberg goal, 1-1.

Their DMs and Defenders are not as strong as they used to be, but this time we wont have Sissoko around and they even managed to survive this one the first time.
They have indeed sacrificed some power for speed, but its still in their DNA.
I believe that some particular elements, never live a team's gameplay.
Because the new layers need to adapt and cope with the gaming plan of the team and the players that used to form the core and determine the essence of the team.
Lazio is now more changed than ever before, but they can still wear their gladiator mask for the derbies. I think that we will have a hard time.

But on a positive notice, if they really miss Pandev, their chances to score on counterattacks will be diminished. Is this confirmed?

For the second bloody time. You said the same thing, maybe half a year ago and we both laughed afterwards when i reminded you how that match finished. :D

No, we won 3:2 back then. Ale did score a brace after two great Zanetti assists, Pandev also scored a brace, but Trez (after a Brazzo accidental pass) opened the score.

It is confirmed, but Pandev has been quite crappy for like 4-5 months. Foggia taken over the shots so to speak, he is quite a slick player we need to watch.

Not again.

True true, I only have those two awesome goals and assists in my mind, I completely dont recollect Lazio's goals (or Trez goal), but remember specific details of the game otherwise like it was yesterday. I guess I am too much of an Ale fanboy because those two awesome goals really stuck with me :)

Be prepared to remind me again in the fall when we meet Lazio ;)
