Knowing that cap will start the serie A match with Zlatan-Trez, these are my formations for the double feature against fio.

Coppa Italia:

-------------------------Buffon
---Balzereti-------Kovac-----Gladstone-----Pessoto
--Olivera(Mutu)-------Blasi---Giani-----Nedved
-------------Zalayeta------Del piero

serie A:

--------------------Abbiati (Gigi should not play twice in 3 days)
---Zambrotta-------Thuram---------Canavarro----Chielini
---Camoranesi-------Viera--------Emerson------Mutu
-----------Zlatan----------------Trezeguet

we should play the bench warmers as said before to give them the chance to prove them selfs , especially gladstone and others who did not play a single game , it is interesting that we will play with fiorentina twice in 3 days in cuppa then on sunday in seria A.

id rest the big players and id keep buffon for the league game, give abbiati 1 last game

buffon
balzareti
zebina
kovac
pessotto
camo
gianni
blasi
olivera
zalayeta
mutu

surely mutu deserves to get at least 1 game in his proper position and zalayeta also deserves a start.

It'll be very interesting to see what kind of team Fiorentina put out for this game. Capello will in all likelihood rest some of his star players ahead of the Serie A match away to this same team but I wonder if Cesare Prandelli will take the same approach. If he does then I expect a pretty even, open game but if it's a full strength Fiorentina I see us leaving Florence with a negative result.

The Coppa may not be the most prestigious tournament in the world but I'd still like to see us put in some effort. I don't expect or want us to play our first team but IMO our squad is good enough to attain solid results even if we rest some players.

This match represents a good chance for Mutu, Del Piero and Zalayeta to get some more minutes under their belts and I'd begin the game with all three of them in the starting lineup. Camoranesi and Nedved can play a half each and I'd start with Vieira and Giannichedda in the middle as neither of the two played against Treviso. Balzaretti, Kovac, Gladstone and Pessotto would make up my back four.

Buffon/Abbiati
Balzaretti - Kovac - Gladstone - Pessotto
Camoranesi/Nedved - Giannichedda - Vieira - Mutu
Zalayeta - Del Piero

Somehow I feel it is better to have Emerson or Viera on the pitch.

Well maybe Vieira should play as I don't think Emerson has had a rest this season. One of either Cannavaro and Thuram should also be rested and Buffon should start to get some match practise. Starting Mutu up front seems like a good idea considering the form he's in at the moment and pairing him with Zalayeta could work well. Of course not everyone can be rested so Capello will have to chose carefully.

Buffon should not play both of these matches.

Forza Juve , to me Coppa is not that important, all what i want is winning Fio in Seria A at florence next sunday .

I think playing in both matches would be good for Buffon. He needs to get back playing again as quickly as possible so his fitness and sharpness returns. I think a Coppa Italia match is the perfect way to make a return after a long injury and besides, even a rusty Buffon is better than Abbiati. :p

i know its good for him but he is not 100 % recovered , how come he will play 2 matches within 3 days ?

Plus we are not that scared if Abbiati played the 2 matches , we don't want loose him again with a stupid coppa italia. you can't gamble or guarantee if he did get injured again with Fio in coppa :)
