He rided the other players success in this final
He was awful. Lol that this is the international trophy he finally wins. Was nowhere near being Argentina’s best player.
Let me introduce you to Cristiano Ronaldo’s performances in the 2016 and 2018 Champions League finals (he was abysmal in both).

At the end of the day, trophies are won and lost as a team. Messi was mediocre today but nobody cares because Argentina won and that’s all that matters.

Just like nobody on this forum cares that Ronaldo was probably the worst player on the pitch in several of his CL final wins.

I am glad they won it. This can be a new beginning for Argentina in international competitions now that the drought is broken. They've always had great players and for some reason they would come close but couldn't deliver trophies or perform well in the finals. Would be cool to see them unleashed in the 2022 world cup.

Come on now. Next we'll be including U17 titles.
Neymar will have to win a Copa or World Cup for his legacy since the Confed is not held in as high regard seeing as it is essentially a rehearsal for the World Cup. However, there was allot of hype for the 2013 edition of the Confederations Cup and he was by far the best player at the tournament:

Ronaldo registered 0 goals and 0 assists in both semi final ties of those editions as well. But yes did in fact carry Real to their triple run...

There is something kinda fitting that the NT trophies that Messi and Ronaldo each lifted happened when both were no shows in the final and their teams had to carry them.
