ImTOO MPEG Encoder is the easiest solution, but has some issues,
like loosing the sync of sound and image, esp if u encoding long films and convert a high quality video(like DVD) to low quality(like 3GP),
does anyones know a proffesional tool wich can create DVD's with subtitles over AVI in stanrdad 4,5GB disks?

Greg I am having a real hard time getting different multimedia formats working on Linux, any ideas??
Unfortunately, not much of any, Rami. At work we handle a lot of multimedia format conversion on Linux without incident. At least it works well when we stick to open source libraries that are very standardized (e.g., lame for music, etc.).

It is just killing me, I have been for a week now with SuSE 10.0 Linux and I am totally digging it but throughout the whole week I have been trying to get WMV,WMA, MPEG...etc to work. And the crappy dial up connection I am having aint helping either :(
