I'm gonna be angry as balls if i see Pirlo starting the dortmund game.

Want Pogba magic ? Fucking start Cheesio as CDM so he has the freedom to do so, instead of protecting the grandpa magister

Played like a boss at CDM. Too bad that only at 29 years of age we found him the right spot.
Yes, it's a shame. This guy is a freaking beast at the position. While as a CM he's only OK to good sometimes.

But I think he took a lot of years to develop athletically. He wasn't nearly as tough a few years ago. His stamina and strenght improved absurdely.

And the previous years Pirlo was bossing the midfield at that position, we didn't really need Marchisio to play in there.

So it was found out when needed.

Imagine if we play dortmund, with Claudio in his faultless self, Pogba having a game like yesterday, and Vidal having a game like last season.

Doesnt even matter who's playing up front anymore then

Indeed.

With those 3 firing on all cylynders in a good day.. i dont think we need 3 or 4 goals to beat even the likes of madrid. The forwards should do their work then.

The beauty of what Marchisio is doing, is not only the fact that he has been sublime in his role as a CDM, being the link between the defense and the midfield, with the way he anticipates, cuts off angles, and basically allows the defense to push further up the pitch than at any point I can remember in the last several years (Seriously, when was the last time any of us had seen Chiellini take the ball from behind the mid-stripe to the opponents box like we did a couple of weeks ago)

It's that despite playing farther back and having the role of covering for Pogba and Vidal when they push further up, he is still dangerous as fuck outside the box when he gets in position to play the ball and shoot.

It took its time.. but definitely he excels in there.

IMO, since he started playing footie as a forward, and had technique and a decent shot...made coaches and himself think he was better suited to an attacking role.

Then he went in the wilderness all this years after not convincing as an attacker.... but in this DM position..he excels because of his stamina, his technique and his defensive capabilities. It seems that being training in so many different roles all this years ,paid its dividends at last.
