Maybe there's a clause in the contract which says that the cant play agains Juve ?
Marchisio and Piccolo move to Empoli
After reaching an agreement with Empoli, Juventus have announced the transfer of Claudio Marchisio and Felice Piccolo, two players who grew up in Juventus’ youth teams, and who will now move to the Tuscan club.
The midfielder joins Empoli on loan, while the defender will be joint-owned by the two clubs.
The two players will find their ex-team mate Sebastian Giovinco, who has been on loan at Empoli, at Manager Luigi Cagni's disposal, since the start of summer training camp. We wish them both the best of luck for this new adventure they're about to begin.

You want him to rot on the bench? He's gonna play regularly with Empoli and Giovinco will be there. It's better for him and Juve.
Nocerino is better atm and passed the loan test and is ready to be on Juve's bench and play in the Coppa Italia and some Serie A games.
If we play with a three-man midfield, Marchisio will get plenty of playing time.
Tiago, Almiron, Nocerino, Marchisio, Zanetti. We don't have to play Zanetti all the time and we could have rotated Marchisio into the starting XI every now and then, but now that idea is shot. Blasi should be sold as soon as possible, which leaves us with just Tiago, Almiron, Zanetti and Nocerino.
But now won't be able to always field a 4-3-3 as we don't have enough options in midfield, which is funny because Ranieri will probably use that quite often.
