You have an ACL tear ?

- - - Updated - - -

At my age its important to have your bloodwork done twice a year to see how your body is doing.

At your age? Aren't you like 30?

- - - Updated - - -

What a terrible blow and what a terrible moment to happen!!!
This injury hust completely destroyed any chances we had in the important transfer window that is coming.
Instead of finally focus at favoring on quality over quantity, this injury will give to Marotta the excuse he needs to buy more mediocre CMs, instead of a starter finisher and a starter AM.
Heres hoping for decent CL chances in 2017...
Another addition to the ignore list.

Damn man, you should really consider it.

I've had a really big tear in my ancle ligaments, underwent surgery, several weeks in a cast, a few months physiotherapy with ultrasound and balancing.
I know exactly that pain you feel when its humid, and that lack of stability, but it will go away with proper healing.

Did still need high heeled boots to prevent twisting my foot when walking uneven terrain, but that eventually went away with calf raises or doing walkouts with my maximum squat+70kg

You are still young, you can easely make a full recovery.

Knee dislocation, sounds horrific imo
Sorry about the injury but picturing you in high heels just made lol.

The most important thing is not to rush him back and he'll be fine IMO. Lemina will take over and Hernanes will most probably stay so we have some depth. It's not perfect but I don't see Beppe moving for anyone else unless an interesting opportunity arises.

It was 4 years ago. I've never went on with the surgery. Kinda scared to do it, especially since I'm not into playing football that much anymore so I didn't have to sacrifice a lot.

It doesn't stop me from doing cardio at the gym on a treadmill with straight movement, plus I can squat without feeling any pain these days.

The humidity here kills me with pain though or whenever I'm feeling too optimistic and fuck around until I fall on my butt.

Or the occasional knee dislocation in a supermarket. :D
Don't be a retard and go see some specialist about this.

You'll live to 80 at the very least. With developments in medicine and people taking better care of themselves, 100 seems even more likely. I also see 50 and 60 year olds performing in all sorts of sports. Hell, the physical prime for your chosen sport is in your 30's.

same here, i torn my acl while playing football like 2 years ago, and also hurt a cartilage there. according to a specialist/friend, recovery from a cartilage surgery includes 6-8 weeks in bed, and i haven't had the time in the last 2 years to take off from work/family. i'm not a big guy, my knees never were under too much load. according to my doctor, i can live without an acl. i have no everyday issues (besides i can't really run), it doesn't hurt at all, i can swim, ride the bike without any pain, still i want to get this fixed. i'd even take those 2 fucking months in bed if necessary.

my brother had the same injury with occasional dislocations. he eventually decided to go on with the surgery, and after a year or so, he went back to play football. that was like 15 years ago, and he had zero issues since then. i second this:

Don't be a retard and go see some specialist about this.

I'm not denying any of that.

Actual reason of doing bloodwork is checking how my body is doing. If something is off with kidney/liver function, cholesterol, vitamin concentrations, adrenal gland, pancreas, i want to know at the start of the new training cycle. Bit checking up how the body coped with the progress of the past 25 (now 28) weeks.
I'm not having THAT much time left for natural progress cause i started powerlifting aged 27.

So far, it has been mostly neglectable stuff. Everything performs excellent, i've got an inherited elevated cholesterol(within boundaries) and testosterone, but liver and kidneys are doing excellent despite showing down 2.5-3.0g protein/kg bodyweight each day :D
Vitamin C in the adrenal gland and Vitamin D are the only two things that occasionally are on the low side, but its very easely medicated. Also winter is gone, so D wont be an issue.

Reason i'm feeling old is because i've started training 2 instead of 5 days after my competition and every muscle is beeing crippled by DOMS + triceps are full of lactic acid, and my left hip flexor is inflammated.
The remedy for that would be "suck it up buttercup"

Honestly the only thing that has ever helped me with sore hip flexors has been rest. Stretching makes it worse, training through it makes it worse. Other muscles it doesn't really matter, but sore hip flexors are really annoying.

Fully agreed. But i do not understand how i got this.

I know when i'm doing 2x sumo deadlifts and 2x+ squats in a week, my hip flexors will start to act up big time.

Now ? I havent done sumo's in over a month, havent felt hip flexor stuff for over a year, had 1.5 weeks of lower load. Competition on saturday but only did 2 squats and the deadlift was conventional.

Yet my hip flexor was acting up on the first training on monday. Luckely, it only had frontsquats, bench and high bar squats.

Like, how the fuck did i fuck up that hip flexor, i'm not getting it honestly

This is a bit far off from Marchisio, but if you were lifting max weights during competition there's obviously always a possibility of straining something, regardless of form or exercise.

Looking back at some horrible quality footage, i probably overstretched them a bit when locking out my final deadlift attempt :D
