Excited about Marchisio & Bonucci, I assume?
I'm excited that Conte is finally trying something new and it seems that he as well sees formation as a main problem for our recent slump. And no I'm not excited to see Bonucci in a four men back line, just like that I believe Marchisio and Pogba should switch places, but all in due time.

4-3-1-2 tomorrow - SKY

He tried this formation today

--------------Buffon
Caceres-Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
---------Vidal-Pirlo-Pogba
-------------Marchisio
----------Tevez-Llorente
Well that's some progress from Conte! At last!

If I were you I wouldn't worry about Marchisio as treq. Bigger problem lies in defense: Bonucci. IMO much more solid it would have been like this:

Caceres - Barzagli - Chiellini - Peluso/Ogbonna

Good thing there's some chance Caceres will start as well as Llorente. Some presence upfront with Tevez + treq should allow us to be more dangerous. I hoped for a more winger-based formation but I won't complain if we start like this. Finally there's the idea of 4 man backline which allows Conte to use one more man further up the pitch.

I'll believe an orthodox 4-3-1-2 when I see it, we'll be pressed back to a usual back five, just gives us slight flexibility (and weakness) on the counter attacks of both teams.

I can only agree on that one.

So, do you think we'll actually use such a formation, or will it just be these players in some sort of 3-5-2?

I am pleased that we may change formation. Though am I the only one that finds the media second guessing our every tactical change disconcerting?
