Fantastic game. The scoreline is deceiving.

Lots of action on both ends and some truly magnificient play.

Allegri got his tactics spot on and except for that Marchisio mistake and Sterling's shot, we didn't really give City much restricting them to long shots from Toure.

Their defence seems really bad though, and we could have and should have put more past them.

Alex Sandro MotM for me, but Pogba was a phenomenon and Mandzukic had a very good 50 minutes.

Good game, still frustrating that we didn't finish them off but at least we created chances.

A lot of cheap give aways at times but we looked like a team again and there is no doubt we deserved to win.

Mandzukic was outstanding, as was Alex Sandro.

Pogba was great too.

Counting all of the big chances in this game, if all of them had gone in, we would've won 4-2. Thoroughly deserved win for us.

Mandzukic was his usual uninspiring self in the second half. Morata just has so much more to his game in terms of dimension, but I can see why Allegri prefers the battering ram style CF than the modern day super striker. The game on the whole was just the kind of game Allegri thrives on. Open, end to end fluid football that allows him to set up the team to play the way he likes. Pogba was unplayable for the first 45, slowed down a bit in the second, but Alex Sandro was just decisive on all counts. One of the most well rounded performances I've seen this season, if not the only one.

There was the Fernandinho chance in the first half which he sent to the heavens like he was Ramos.

If we had Quag we would've lost 3-0.
:agree:

With Matri we would have won 6-0.

Can't say it was thoroughly deserved to be honest. We were better in our organisation than them, even though they created their chances. We aren't quite there yet, it's just that the cohesiveness of the back line is making us look far more stable than our performances otherwise tend to be through the course of a 90 min game. This team is still not sure of its potential, but the string of victories are helping create temperament, habit, and a sense of responsibility in the new young talents.
