People still think Ronaldo is on Messi's level ??

Come on, i hate barça, but Messi is the best player i've ever seen, He's probably the greatest ever and he's still 28.
I'm one of those whose always rated Messi above Ronaldo, but I think its extremely harsh to say they're not on the same level. Ronaldo is an absolute machine, and if Messi is better than him, then the difference is not that big IMO.

I know Fred, but Messi impacts the game way more than Ronaldo and than anybody i've ever seen. Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine yes, but if he's not scoring he's not ilmpacting the game at all. Messi on the other hand can distribute, dictate the pace even if he's not scoring, and most importantly, he makes his teammate better something Ronaldo can't do.
I hate barca for obvious reasons, but Messi is truly a genuis and one of generation player, the game seems so easy and natural for him, it's unfair for other players. Ronaldo works hard but talent wise, he's nowhere near the level of Messi, goals scored are not the only criteria to compare players.

These messi and ronaldo stat's exaggeration are the worst thing has happend to football.people talk about these two like there had never been better player than these two.:sergio:
messi and ronaldo live in an era that facking higuain with 1/5 talent of original Ronaldo is tearing the league apart.
original ronaldo would have outscored both messei and ronaldo if he had a chance to play in the this era.
he would have easily scored 55-60 league goal if he played for us.

This is absolute bullshit. I posted their stats above. Cristiano actually has more assists than Messi over the last season and a half. His goal/assist per minute ratio is a good 7 minutes better than Messi's over that time period.

People need to quit with this narrative that Cristiano does nothing but score. For the last couple seasons he's been assisting at almost the same rate as Messi. Last season Messi had 23 assists, Ronaldo had 19 in 300 less minutes.

You guys blatantly ignore facts to make it seem like Messi is on some different planet from Cristiano.

Now you're just exaggerating; Suarez might be in better form than Ronaldo over the past three-four months, but you have to understand that this is Suarez having an amazing season by his standards and Ronaldo having one of the worst periods of the past 6-7 years, and despite that even if Suarez is in better form, he's barely been better than Ronaldo.

That in itself should show you the gulf in quality between Ronaldo and Suarez, the two are simply not on the same level at all.

When Ronaldo is in form, only Messi can be better, nobody else comes close. There are no facts in football but if there was, then the closest thing to a fact is that Messi and Ronaldo are so much better than the rest. You can argue who is better between those two, but nobody else comes close.
Cristiano's bad form is pretty spectacular... Especially considering how poor the entire team had been to start the season under Benitez. He has 27 goals-10 assists between CL and La Liga and just broke the CL group stage scoring record by a mile with 11 goals.

If the team starts playing well around him, it's scary what he could do this season in CL. 20+ goals?

:agree:

Excellent post. There are quite a number of players that would absolutely destroy this era if they played in it, with defenders being more valued for ball-playing and offensive contribution than actual defending, and referees crippling the good defenders' ability to defend properly.

Ronaldo, Romario, Baggio, Maradona... etc. They'd all be right up there with these two.

This is the problem with people that doesn't watch games and read stats, in no fucking way possible Cristiano impacts the game Messi does, case in point, our games against both teams last year. FFS, Messi bad games troughout his club career could be counted and people remember those because he rarely have a bad game, Can't say the same about Ronaldo. Maybe they were more Talented players than Messi throught history ( Ronaldinho, and Maradonna ) altough i didn't watch the later so i can't judge, but none had his consistency, his lethalness. Even Zidane who the best player of the last generation had spells where he looked like a normal player.

I hate defending Messi but it shocks that people can still put Ronaldo on the same level with him.

You're a joke with this nonsense. Everyone watches these players play. Messi walks around the pitch for 90%+ of the time when Barca is not attacking. Sorry. That's a fact.

You mean our games where Cristiano was the only reason Madrid had a chance to beat us and progress, as he scored both their goals.

And you said Cristiano does nothing but score. Your words. You said if he is not scoring he's not effecting the game.

You were clearly lying and clearly don't watch him play, as that completely ignores to an outrageously oblivious degree the fact he has put up 29 assists in the last season and a half. A ridiculous number of assists. Which means, when he is not scoring he is creating a large number of goals for his teammates with his passing and crossing.

You lied. Blatantly. And if you watched Cristiano you would know he assists a huge number of goals, and isn't just a goalscorer. So it's pretty clear you only watch Messi and fap to ridiculous extent over him, and haven't watched Cristiano at all, only read reports from other Messi fanboys that Cristiano only scores and does nothing else.

But continue with the nonsensical narrative that flies in the face of facts. It suits you.

Seriously. How does someone get so ridiculous about this. Fanboyism gone off the deepend.

Osman is nowhere near this bad. This is nauseating. He's actually outright lying about Cristiano in saying he only scores, and when I point this out, he completely disregards the point and changes the narrative to Messi almost never has "bad" games now. That's not even what I was pointing out. He completely ignores that Cristiano provides just as many assists as Messi does, and changes the subject so as to avoid admitting that he was talking out his ass and lying.

It's shameful. I'd actually agree with him that Messi is better player, not by much though, but more impactful throughout the game, he seems to be more involved in general play and at times comes deep to recieve the ball and organizes the play. His passing is incredible and often opens up their left side of the pitch. But as far as goals and assists are concerned they've been pretty much equal over the years. Now I have to go and take a dump, too much talk about Messi does this to me.

Chee, do you not have something more interesting to debate?
You are right. I am done after this :D

Osman level of cringe when it comes to dickriding of Farca and midget. :)
Yep, coming from someone who said Giovinco is better than Tevez :howler:

You're a joke with this nonsense. Everyone watches these players play. Messi walks around the pitch for 90%+ of the time when Barca is not attacking. Sorry. That's a fact.
Same for Ronaldo.

A penaly and a tap in.

And you said Cristiano does nothing but score. Your words. You said if he is not scoring he's not effecting the game.

You saying that Ronaldo has Messi's vision ? passing ability ? dribbling ? wonder why if he's as good as Messi why that doesn't translate to wins and titles ?

Lol statistics again, watch games. Ronaldo monopolise the ball, he shoots every time, disregards his teammates, Had a lot of games where he didn't step up as the great player he is and disappeared.

[/QUOTE]

You didn't, but i did, doesn't mean i was wrong.

Simple question, you are starting a team, wich player you would take, no sane person would chose Ronaldo over Messi. Real Madrid would drive Ronaldo to Barcelona if it meant they could have Messi. It shows you who's the better player

Agreed. I have stated multiple times that Messi is the better player, but it's by the slimmest of margins, not by some country mile like Cheesio absurdly suggests.

Some people act like Messi is a midfielder, making tackles, interceptions, and having a huge defensive impact as well. He's not. He walks around the pitch and does almost nothing when Barca is not attacking. And for good reason, just like Cristiano he's conserving energy for the part of the game he's vastly more valuable in. Attack. And what are the most important things for an attacking player? Goals and creating goals. And Messi and Cristiano are almost identical in this respect. Messi adds a little more in general build-up play, hence the reason most of us place him slightly over Cristiano, but to say that little bit added in general build-up play puts on a whole different level is quite hilarious.
