Pretty sure I just said we can win the CL

If I said at the start of the season, narrowly losing to Madrid in the CL semi-final, or Narrowly losing to Barca in the final was unacceptable, then i'd have been quoted 50 times and laughed at

More fucking uncontrollable emotions here right now than a room full of teenage girls.

In what sense? They still play the same way, Suarez sure does change the look given they are somewhat more direct.
The fact that they are more comfortable chasing after the ball and this includes their strikers. Its no longer all tika taka shit, they actually play some neat direct stuff and dont need to send their fullbacks all the way up front each and everytime as well. Of course they have weakness, their defence for starters and it can be exploited but at the moment we havent faced such a formidable attacking side like this so a lot of homework to do..hopefully once we get there.

All of our CBs are better than any of the CBs playing tonight. If Messi tried that shit against our guys he'd get the Ronaldo treatment.
We have better defensive organisation, but not invidually better defenders in most cases at all. Bonucci vs 1-1 on Messi doesnt mean he suddenly turns into someone who can tackle like the best of them (he is more about closing down space/herding the attacker/wait for support if someone is running at him).

How do you think we'd line up against Barcelona? Probably with a back four but I think Barzagli is out best defender at dealing with people dribbling at him.
On one hand 3-5-2 is cancer, on the other hand not starting Barzagli against a team like Barca would be stupid. Tough one, guess we'd need to drop Pirlo and play Pogba - Marchisio - Vidal and hope Morata and Tevez can counter.

Well Guardiola cocked that game up royally.

To start out playing three-on-three against Barca's forwards was mind-blowingly reckless and Bayern were lucky not to be 3-0 down by the time he changed to a back four after 20 mins.

But more generally, Bayern just weren't in good enough shape to take Barca on in an open, fast game. Bayern needed to keep the tempo lower and control the spaces better.

It was then clear that with about 20 mins to go Bayern were tired and Barca were gradually increasing the pressure they were applying, trying to win the ball back high up the pitch. But Bayern didn't show the nous to sense the difficulty of the situation and kept on playing around at the back and taking risks that they shouldn't have been taking. When Barca pressed, Bayern should have looked to miss out midfield and make use of their excellent target man.

But, no. Bayern kept inviting the press and eventually it cost them.

Think the result was probably about right in the end.

Messi is just on a different level. He's simply too good. Honestly, I wouldn't even talk about the final right now, we're still underdogs. The only thing that changed between now and 2 days ago is that we have a better chance than bayern in getting to the final. Other than that, it's shaping up to be Real vs Barca, as expected.

IF we do manage to beat Real, then yes, we do have a good chance against Barca for the simple reason that the only teams that I think can knock out this team at the moment are Juventus, Atheltico Madrid, and maybe Chelsea. Either one of those teams can really frustrate Barca, and our advantage is that we have attacking quality that's more impressive than the other two teams. If we make it to the final, it will be a befitting one, because if anyone can get the job against Messi and co, it's the Old Lady.

Barzagli is indeed our best defender at handling outright challengers 1-1, Chiellini physically imposing but doesnt take time to think often, Bonucci too wary to committ to tackles and resorts to half measures if exposed like that. Barzagli the savviest, tho all 3 of these Barca mofos besides being insane dribblers are super quick, so its all about closing them down before they get space to run into.

Are you guys for real? Benatia is better than Bonucci, Chiellini or Barzagli. You would trade any of them in a second for him, don't even joke. Boateng and Pique are overrated.

Not sure what anybody including Pep was expecting, he's not a particularly great ball playing CB and he's not particularly fast. So playing him so far up the pitch and under Pep of all people doesn't do him any favours.

Put a knee in neymars back on the very first occasion, and grab a yellow

kick Messi off the field. The red card is not a problem

put chiellini on Suarez

See Barcelona fall apart despite beeing a man up

We are supposed to be the team so ruthless to consider such tactics. Lets be fans that are worthy of supporting such a team
We don't need that. If we get to the final we will be able to field so many grinta players like Vidal, Pogba, Tevez and even Marchisio and Sturaro. With our defence we can close so much space. Also, Allegri managed to get a result vs. Barca in one game with an awful Milan. But we should think only about Real right now. We still have a game to play there and it ain't gonna be easy. So, one step at a time.
