that's how I play Momo in PES 
Nah, I like Marchisio in his current position and I don't find his range of passing good enough for that position.
That's replacing Melo with Momo as holding mid. If you think Melo has some fuckups as a holding mid, imagine Momo. At least Melo is generally a good passer, while Momo is better off further up in midfield and not so much in a static position.

That's fine defensively, but Milan had Cafu doing all the attacking down that side when that was working well.
We don't have a right back who can take on that sort of responsibilty effectively, so play will continue to get bogged down in the centre.
With the full backs we have available we I don't think we can play all of Melo, Sissoko and Marchisio and remain balanced.

I know that everyone's posting new formations now in every possible topic, but what about "X"...

That would use our currently best player as a link between 2 DM and 2 AM. And we need this link badly. Besides:
- Melo and Momo wouldn't need to pass further than 10 meters;
- our opponents would have to cover not only Diego but especially Marchisio;
- our DM's would still have 2 options in front if Marchisio was covered;
- Iaquinta could be selfish and he is anyway;
The only problem is width and our fullbacks, but they would need to play with 3 CB's to be somehow useful. And who knows, maybe a 5-men defence is what we need:

People seem to be missing the real problem here.
Unless we can learn to play something resembling possession football, all formations based on a narrow midfield and attacking full backs are doomed to failure.
People need to be patient and allow Ferrara the chance to improve our passing game, before looking to make too much by way of adjustments.
Right now, we are playing in a style that is suited to an orthodox 4-4-2 with a squad that is suited to 4-3-1-2.
This means you either work on the team's passing and movement or you force someone to play out of position and switch to a 4-4-2.
The first option is clearly preferable.
4-2-3-1 could work as a temporary solution, but it is not workable on a longer term basis with the players currently available.

I meant in terms of having the appropriate numbers of players for each position, not that the players in certain positions (full back) are necessarily good enough to make the system work effectively.
I should possibly have said the squad has been build to play 4-3-1-2, whether it is suited to it is debatable.
