Since goalkeepers are supposed to do everything these days, and not just saving shots, perhaps we can go for a 1-0-0-0 formation

that way, if we don’t score, firestarter can justifiably blame the keeper for not creating chances and scoring.
and if we concede, we can also justifiably blame the keeper.

It should much more open game though. I expect us to do better in this kind of game. We will still struggle with teams that sit back, until our attacking game is worked out.
That's what I am afraid the most. Our defense never experienced attacking from a decent attackers. That said I don't say that PSV are MC attackers but still ....

Yes, appears Motta has to find a way in breaking these type of clubs down. No clue on PSV except plenty of goals first 5 league matches. Still in form from last year.

Hope he goes with the best 11 on paper and no experimenting with any of the inexperienced young players. Only two days rest though. Changes maybe Savona in for Kalulu and Thurman over Loca. Dusan, Koop, Luiz, Nico need to show thier worth from what is expected. Though Yildiz off against Empoli he and those guys should be enough to score goals. Too much individual talent that hasn't been brought out yet from whatever Motta is trying to accomplish. Need more time to rate Motta.

How good is the Dutch league, i don't know but PSV is killing it. Biggest match of the year for me to see them against outside league competition. It is a young squad and all of us should be at least happy that a change in coaching occurred.

Dusan, for me key player that has to finally step forward!
:jflag:

Don't know how much Calafiori is missed not signing over another mid? Was his price tag and salary much higher/

Di Gregorio

Cambiaso Gatti Bremer Cabal

Locatelli Thuram

Weah Koop Yildiz

Vlahovic

i chose Weah because if Dusan sucks they will need a backup to come in. Hopefully Thuram is ready to start we missed his ball carrying. Cabal over Kalulu because I think Kalulu offers very little going forward and should be used as a CB. He’s almost too defensive minded, even for Motta.

Im still very interested in seeing Adzic play, and how he will be utilized. They had him listed as a forward in yesterdays call up sheet.

some statistics from Sky I didn't understand anything, maybe someone is interested
data says we now have worse attacking stats (npxg, xg per shots, dead ball xg, passes in the opposition area) than bologna had at the same stage of the season

wouldn't read anything into it. making conclusions after 4 rounds, especially with the shortest preseason ever, with like a dozen of new players, of whom some arrived very late into the mercato, is the definition of premature
