Klopp equals Lippi’s unwanted Champions League final record with loss against Real Madrid. Klopp has three losses in the champions League final as a manager though he was won one against Tottenham. (Football Italia)
Klopp has a pretty bad record in cup finals in general but in 2 of those 4 CL finals, his opponents were overwhelming favorites (Madrid 2018 and Bayern 2013)

So Liverpool played 3 finals this season and scored in none of them (winning 2 on penalties). Interesting stat for a team that is deemed one of the most attacking teams in the world.

on the flip side, the coach that tends to adapt to his opponents and is more on the conservative side by this day’s football standards just became the most successful coach in this competition.

Food for thought for people who think that an attacking style ala Pep/Klopp is the only recipe to winning.

This is just ridiculous. Real Madrid has been smashing opponents 3-0, 3-1, 4-0 in La Liga, a tougher league than Serie A, and scoring and conceding bigly in the CL. One match in a single final and now fans here think Allegri can deliver the CL when the stats over the course of the season actually show the complete opposite.

You’re the one bringing Allegri in this. Real parked a bus all the way to the final. Also, the only final that Klopp won was when he parked the bus against Spurs. Sometimes, you have to do what you need to get the result, no matter how ugly the style of play is.

You've not done too badly. Plus for Real Madrid fans it's like us winning the scudetto, a sporting par, if you win anything so often it does lose its shine. Looks great for internet bragging rights though.

It's the hardest job for a coach because almost everything is a failure.
Yep not to mention the great emotions of getting back to Serie A after calciopoli and dominating for a decade. Cannot complain.

Messi and Ronaldo are GOATs and a huge reason for their teams winning, but it's mostly about having a perfect midfield.
Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets were winning CLs with Messi, but also world cups and euros without Messi. Modric, Kroos, Casemiro were winning CLs with Ronaldo, but now also without him.
We had a very promising midfield and then we sold Vidal and Pogba in two summers. That's all.
Insane how much Jj management has neglected that in order to spend hundreds of millions on attackers

Can he surpass Dani Alves at some point?
It's difficult, but possible. Imo it depends on how Real will keep up the coming years, I could see them defend their La Liga title the coming season.

And CL? Never bet against them.

Neuer and Müller both got 31 titles, be it for Germany and Bayern. Müller with his soon to be 33 years of age could potentially surpass Dani Alves in titles as he just extended until 2024, but I doubt it will happen.

Dani Alves will hold the record I think.

I’m not talking about Allegri or Juve in general. We simply can’t be compared to either of these sides. And no I don’t think we are going to win shit in Europe if we continue playing the way we did this season. Real obviously approached CL games and La Liga games very differently. But they soaked up pressure against Chelsea, but raised their tempo when needed, similarly against City, PSG, and last night. It’s called game management. The difference with us and them is that we lose and they win, and that will determine how people judge the game style.

Ancelotti knows he can’t play the high pressing football/“gegenpress” with a midfield that doesn’t have the legs, so he defaults to something he knows the team is capable of and doesn’t expose their weaknesses. The difference here again is that our midfield doesn’t have half the talent and our squad doesn’t have Real’s mental strength.

This again has nothing to do with Juve or Allegri. I am simply stating that there is more than 1 style that brings you success in Europe.

Once again defending deep =/= 'park the bus'. Stop pushing this ridiculous notion.

Liverpool press high. Playing open against Pool would've been suicide given the ageing legs in Madrid's midfield, hence they played deeper. Besides, as the game progressed Real's technical ability prevailed over Pool's athleticism hence they were able to control the midfield in the 2nd half.

Parking the bus would mean putting 10 men behind the ball all game, loading up bodies in your own box with no sign of attacking play or penetration from midfield which wasn't the case yesterday.

As if Alisson hasn’t bailed him out on multiple occasions before.

Taken out of context.

He said "When the goalkeeper is Man of the Match then something is going wrong for the other team.”

Then goes on to say Courtois made some incredible saves and Liverpool were not good enough.

The opposite of what this snippet implies
