Spurs fan from England, posting in Peace.

I think Kyle's is a great post. Spurs fans are not underestimating Juventus. Most of us are really excited about seeing our team test themselves against a European heavyweight over two legs in the knock-out rounds. I'd say most Tottenham supporters believe we can win, but we are expecting a very close contest, and that we will absolutely have to be on top of our game to have any chance of progressing.

Equally, I'd hope that most of you guys enjoy the game - and would caution against underestimating Tottenham. This isn't some fly-by-night backwater of a club you're up against, even if our CL pedigree is minimal. This is an established and historied club from London with a huge fan base. We're the 10th richest club in the World, have arguably the second most valuable squad in the World behind Man City only (according to CIES Football Observatory), possibly the best training facilities in Europe, and a dynamic and tactically adaptable first-team equally comfortable in aggressive pressing or giving up possession and counter-attacking with 3, 4 or 5 at the back depending on the situation. Of course, we'll also be spearheaded by one of the most reliable strikers in World football right now ;) And by no means are we a one-man team. Eriksen, Alli and Son are more than capable of creating goals out of nothing if Kane has an off-day. We'll be selling out Wembley (whilst the £1Billion new stadium is being built for next year) and with almost 90k supporters in attendance for this game - and it will be very, very loud!

If any of you want tips on how to get tickets for the match in England, I'll be more than happy to advise, and can point out a few good places to eat / drink before and after the Wembley game. Or some places to stay that might help you avoid the congestion when travelling by tube.

Really looking forward to this game and learning a bit more about Italian football and bench-marking our progress against one of the CL big boys!

Best of luck, and may the best team win.
Fans can think and say whatever they want as long as the club and players approach the games in the right manner. Really, what do you care if someone says we would smash Tottenham both home and away? What matters is the mindset our coach puts his players in.

De Bruyne might be the best attacking mid in the world this season. So lethal and has eyes on the back of his head.
And to go along with that vision he has a lethal shot and pretty good at bringing the ball forward. Not to mention he's not a bitch physically either. He's developed so much more than the likes of Pogba and Verratti.

This is according to the CIES Football Observatory, not me. The CIES Football Observatory is a research group within the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The CIES Football Observatory specialises in the statistical analysis of football. It was created in 2005 by Dr. Raffaele Poli and Dr. Loïc Ravenel.
I just don’t see how this can be true. Kane and Dele Alli would go for big money, but other than that? Real Madrid and PSG surely have much more valuable squads.

mendy, as an asa replacement. too bad for his injury.

i like some other city players, too (fernandinho could reunite with costa, they were both great for shakhtar; i wouldn't kick out silva, jesus or sané of our squad either), but de bruyne is probably the only one who could improve our quality big time.

Name which better midfielder those two stopped before. A past it Iniesta? Andre Gomes? Only time they faced real elite midfielders they got fucked against Madrid.
So tired of hearing that thought terminating cliché again and again.

We played with 2 CM's against 4 CM's(!) and it didn't even look bad til one of them (Pjanic) got injured, and Mandzu got injured too, without having proper subs on the bench. Not to mention deflections and bad luck. In short, literally Everything that could go wrong on that night, DID go wrong.

But go ahead and crap your pants in fear of facing De Bruyne if you feel like it.

ah i forgot about Mendy. Would have been great if we signed De Bruyne after he left Chelsea for Wolfsburg.

Havent heard much about him for like half a decade now. Did Guordiola bring him back to life or something?
I feel like he’s always been low key class. Maybe more big moments lately but he’s a maestro out there.

Not true Madrid played a 3 with Isco constantly dropping back. Nothing different from Mandzukic dropping back for us or Messi dropping back for Barca. Pjanic held his own well til he was injured but Khedira was absolutely outclassed and would be outclassed if he were to come up against City's midfield aswell.

Its kind of pointless to talk if City are contenders or not. Its still December. You need to be in great form for the knockouts (not now, but in feb-march-april). The advantage City has is that they are building a decent lead in the epl which means they can rotate players and with all the respect they have a very easy first round opponent. Quarters-semis will show where they are, also depending who they draw in those stages. I still think a truly big team like Bayern or Barca will beat them in the knockouts. But if they keep drawing some weaker sides, they have their chances. I mean there is huge chance of all english QF tie. Man City would beat the other epl sides in the competition, they already beat them in the league. Maybe only Mourinho with some bunker football might advance. But he just lost in the league.

he is at the heart of a great system that plays to his strengths. Kinda like how Pep's system suited Xavi or Conte's system played to Pirlo's strengths. Pogba and Verratti would flourish in that system as well. They are all very well rounded players. I imagine every player is now looking at City as an amazing destination to be part of this group. Big money, EPL, trophies, and creating EPL history. City doing so well is bad news for us.

Dybala, Sanchez, and Alex Sandro and many others are probably thinking that it would be awesome to be part of that.

why? our players wanting to go to a filthy rich club thats a willing spender (Pogba) vs a traditionally big one but careful with their money (Vidal) suits us more definitely
