Cell phones: how dependant are you (1 Viewer)

Do you think that now, after getting so used to them in every day life, in a world where EVERYONE has a cell phone, we'd be able to live without them?


I started thinking about this the other day when I urgently needed my mate. I called him on his cell, only to find out he had left it in my car. I freaked out, I called his home, his girlfriend, even his mom. I began panicking, I was just about to sit in my car and drive around town looking for him when he called.

It was hell. Pure and utter hell.

Yeah, I guess I'm very dependant on them

I forget my mobile sometimes for days without even noticing.

No, it's just that I have grown accustomed to always being available to whoever needs me and having others be available to me when I need them.

Yeah they are soooooo important,a survey was recently done in rsa & it showed that 8/10 south africans have mobile phones!consedering that the public transport system here is a shambles its extremely important for one's safety.

btw, i also cant even stand the idea of leaving my cellphone at home.

Once I had to give away my cel phone to fix it, and had to stay without it for 1 week... I couldnt call anybody cause I didnt remember their numbers... I didnt even remember my own house number I swer to you its true!!

My battery can be dead for days at a time. And I've pretty much universally found that any situation where someone felt they needed to reach me right away could have waited at least a half hour or so.
