For the benefit of this topic and people who take this topic seriously, it might be better if only the on topic stuff is unmoderated, while the off topic shit should be dealt with if it goes to far.

But this is entirely up to the mods, its just many people like reading these theories, and then decide for themselves what they think

Unmoderated doesn't mean you can do what ever the hell you want. Within it's relevance to this thread it means you stick to the topic; being Calciopoli, and you can get away with using curse words. Insulting other members is not allowed and neither is posting images unrelated to the topic. We're all grown ups here and let's act like it. This thread is closed until I clean it up. After that we will issue warnings, infractions, and bannings if need be for those that stray from the topic.

Now if this thread was passsworded, i.e. not viewable to the public it'd be another story ;)

atm it's unmoderated...at some degree. It's like the Jerry Springer show. It's mayhem but they still beep and blur things out. :p

The use of common sense is the wise thing to do.

On the topic of common sense. Some people questioned la gazzetta's link with Inter so I wanted to post these links regarding who is who.

The Gazzetta's links to Inter can mainly be attributed to one person. Carlo Buora. This man was the VP of Pirelli and is now the VP of Telecom Italia. Both companies have historical ties with Inter directors Tronchetti and Moratti (Tronchetti owns Pirelli and Moratti owns Inter while both sit on Telecom-Italia's Board of Directors). Carlo is also the President of RCS Media Group which owns Gazzetta Dello Sport, Corriere Dello Sport, Correire Della Sera and now Tuttosport as well among others. For a long time Carlo was actually president of Inter as well.

I once posted the organigram of Telecom. That's when theories started to happen here and for good reasons.

How common are/were wire-tappings in Italy? Did this type of stuff appear in the news before, whether it was regular citizens or businesses?

Because if it was then why would a man such as Moggi be so stupid to be talking on the phone about things that could be (and were) misconstrued? That doesn't make sense to me.

Moggi was like an old lady, he admits it himself. He can't shut up. He had to talk to everybody about everything. The impression I got when I listened to the wiretaps is that he is a gossip queen. Granted nothing really bad was said but he trashed everyone and shamed himself. It wasn't against the rules at the time (nor is it now) but it was still in poor taste. It wasn't just him. Pairetto was so pussy whipped he told his wife everything all the time. Bunch of chicks.

Wire tapping was going on illegally for years obviously but it went to court when Berlusconi wasn't around anymore to stop it. He stated that he is against it and would outlaw it if he regained his position as PM. Prodi allowed it.

That just tells me that he was just yapping off as it was part of his personality and not that he was talking about buying refs and fixing matches.

A man of Moggi's character could surely not have been that stupid, and I'm not talking about in terms of morality. Anyone who deals with shady business whether it be drugs, arms trade, terrorism, embezzlement, etc etc. know that they have to watch their back. Talking on an unsafe line is sentencing yourself. If Moggi was cheating the worst place to be discussing it would be on the phone, now wouldn't it?

I'm not questioning Gazzetta's links with Inter at all, gsol.
I was only talking from personal experience with Gazzetta. I read them more or less regularly and i know that Milan are their main interest. Many of their articles (actually most of the articles) seem like they're written by Milan fans. They are always the first Italian papper that has exclusive info about anything happening in Milan, about potential transfers in and out of the team and they always seem to "forget" to write about the bad things happening to Milan while they never forget to write, or even to give 2 or 3 pages, about the bad things happening to any other team, including Inter.
They are pro-Milan the same way Tuttosport is pro-Juve
In the past it was disguisting how anti-Juve they were. Now things are different and they're not giving us the hard time anyomore.

As for Inter....they threat Inter like any other team apart from Juve and Milan. They are more or less objective when they write about Inter, Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio or Rimini.
Even more, lately they seem to attack Inter a lot for the favours they've been getting from the refs and they use video evidence to prove how Inter are being favoured by the refs.

That's why i found it strange why people have been saying that Gazzetta are "Inter's newspaper"

It's not like gsol is going to be able to change anything, you guys are just talking about shit you can't fix. So why the fuck do you guys care? It's fucking ridiculous. Ohh let's complain and point a finger, let's say it's not us, it's not our fault...what, do you think they are going to then say WELLL OKAY, your serie B season never happened? Give you back things you already won? You guys are tarnished for life, no matter what.

So stop acting like fucking little drama queens and grow the fuck up.

    Exactly.

The point is what he was saying wasn't actually against any known rule at the time. He's just a gossip hound.

They are all actually pretty funny though. They all trash Carraro because he's supposedly really stupid and their were occasions where I had to repeat it to let my wife listen.

I was actually responding to a few people there who had doubted the link but I see your point. Today obviously the situation has changed but in the past it was hard to screw Milan around in the press or on TV because of the power Berlumerda had. As soon as he was gone Milan was dragged through the mud too (to some extent).

By the way Tuttosport was pro-Juve. No longer though.

In any case realistically I doubt that being a Juventino will really help our team should he be elected. It's different with Berlumerda because he has a vested interest in Milan. But for a simple fan I doubt too much would change. Granted a farsopoli would likely not repeat itself but that's an extreme circumstance
