That said I always thought there are few plane crashes if you consider what a plane is actually about. This might sound naive and childish, but to me flying is still amazing.
It can be hard sometimes, with the unpleasant experience of being herded through customs & security, trapped in a seat with people coughing and children crying all around you, but I still find flying amazing. I mean, to design something the size of a building so you can drive it down a road so fast that it lifts off it and stays up? Bloody hell.

I wonder what you do as a policeman in a case like this. I mean what can you possibly do? Get some statements, write a report, make sure whatever evidence can be gathered up is collected. It's rather late to intervene.
Nasty indeed.

Statistically flying is way safer than driving.
Depends on the driver/pilot. :D
Well, according to Aeroflot, not so much the pilot! "One sought to reassure them by announcing that it was “not such a big deal” if the pilot was drunk because the aircraft practically flew itself."
