"In 1983, Juventus, Milan and Sampdoria approached Manchester United for me. I said if Juventus had a real interest, I’d be interested in talking to them. Juve had seven or eight of Italy’s World Cup winners, plus Michel Platini, my favourite player then. Nobody offered what United wanted, so it came to nothing."
