They're both incredible. Watch both.
This! The Wire is a bit more authentic imo and doesn't rely on cliffhangers, action and dramatic sound effects in the same way many of the more recent series do. It's a killer show and the change of environment from season to season makes it more dynamic. Some find the episodes a bit boring but imo it's simply because the show reflects reality a tad more while being less action packed.

GoT is my favorite show nowadays. I'm fascinated with the story line, the environment and the acting is just awesome. I would probably watch that first if I were you but it's a win-win situation! Just make sure to have the other show ready for when you've finished the first one because if you really haven't watched them there is absolutely no time to spare!

i got all the episodes of game of thrones, but i'm not sure if i should start it.

the wire sounds more interesting.
if you dont mind reading, i would start out with the books before watching the show. the book as much more detailed and is easier to understand the lore from the show if you read the books first.

:agree: GoT is fantasy while The Wire is a realistic depiction of Baltimore. But both are great, packed with detail and require your attention to understand and appreciate. You can't go wrong with either.

I've found that if you don't play a lot of Dungeons & Dragons and get off on fairies and sprites and Renaissance Faires, Game of Thrones is just another faux-medieval fantasy hand-job.

yeah, i mean i like it and all, but it is so overrated. i feel like they're definitely targeting LotR fans and WoW players or something.

the naked chicks are hot tho.
