El Túnel by Ernesto Sabato. Even though this is certainly not merely a simple romance story, I recommend it to anyone who has loved someone, someday in some way. You'd feel sympathy with the main character not in the ordinary ways one might be sympathizing with someone who is in love, but you'd surprisingly discover mutual feelings between yourself and the main character, some feelings you'd never thought someone else would have had them too.

I've read it. Quite different to Snow Crash, and I'm not sure about the ending, but it had me fairly engrossed for a few days.

Nothing like, I'm afraid. Moderately well read in science and science fiction, but not so much in any other genres.

Any tips for staying focused on reading a book. I must read some technical books to be honest but find it hard to concentrate. Its a PDF document so I keep coming back to the forums and look for new posts!!
