It has been an unforgettable week for the Juventus youth academy. While the Primavera have understandably hit the headlines for their Viareggio triumph and Coppa Italia semi-final victory over Fiorentina, many other teams are also enjoying a remarkable campaign.

Yet our round up could only begin with the fine achievements of Marco Baroni’s side. Last week’s win over Roma capped off the team’s excellent Viareggio Cup campaign which saw them go undefeated in seven games. And this was followed up by the young Bianconeri securing another showdown with the Giallorossi just four days later. This time it was Fiorentina who were swept aside in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, with Spinazzola’s late heroics proving enough to edge past the Viola.

The Allievi Nazionali are aiming to follow in the Primavera’s footsteps when they begin their ‘Beppe Viola’ tournament campaign on Thursday. Fabrizio Del Rosso’s side will be confident of a good showing after running out 3-0 winners over Modena on Sunday. *

As far as victories are concerned, the Giovanissimi Nazionali are showing no signs of ending their sensational fifteen-game winning streak. Claudio Gabetta’s team will hope to carry this good form into their next engagement - the Manchester United Premier Cup in Pescara.

But main rewards are coming courtesy of the club’s successful Soccer School. Three members of the winning Viareggio side – Rubin, Schiavone and Padovan – rose through the ranks and have recently been called up to the Italy Under-19 squad along with Liviero, De Silvestro and Beltrame.
