The question just crept into my mind a little while back.Who do you think is better?Vieri is one of my favourite players,so ill be biased here and go for Bobo.Im talking about comparing both players during their peak years btw,not at the present time. And just for the record, stats favour Trezeguet.Though we all know stats can lie.Do they lie this time?

Trezeguet is definetly a better finisher, no questions asked IMO. Vieri was however a more complete and overall better player.

What? I said he's the better player.

Seriously, I saw Vieri miss incredible sitters at times whereas I never, or very rarely, saw Trez miss them. Vieri was great and worth much more on the pitch as he could score from out of nowhere but from pure finishing point of view, Trezeguet is better.

I know what you meant. And i dont totally disagree with you.But having said that,i think the margin seperating Trezeguet and Vieri is very thin.I cant honestly recall someone being as deadley in the air as Vieri.Trezeguet's better on the ground though.

forget Vieri's career after the Inter move, then Vieri is the better finisher and the player, but after he moved to Inter, he became weaker, and after that time Trezeguet was/is performing much better.. but overall, Vieri was the better..

Vieri played his best football in Inter. I´m not sure I understand you, Snoop. He scored 123 goals in 190 games for Inter in Serie A during his time there.

on pure predatory finshing trez, but overall vieri, he could score from outside the box, and overall as a player was better

stats from wiki? hmm.. that wasn't my point exactly, I consider Vieri's years at the time he left Juve till the first couple of years as the the golden era of vieri. His performance at world cup 1998 and all. same goes for Ronaldo, I consider his time before the injury and departure from Inter as the best of his, even thou he scored loads of goals at Real, that doesn't make him at real as a better players than he was at Barcelona and Inter. Sure Vieri's time was great at Inter, but if you watched his game at Lazio Juve (thou he wasn't given the chance to prove himself more, and transfered out which was a huge crime!) and Athletico.

i would defo agree with that.

Trez is a fantastic finisher, however Vieri offered more in terms of link up, pace and dribbling.

but Trez is the perfect finisher

Vieri was more complete as a player, but he was very unstable, his carrier was such a mess, his evolution and determination left him long time ago, he wasted a great part of his carrier...
That would take a lot of points from his overall skills, finishing is Treze's field, he is born for this!!
Trezequet proved to be the reliable wise choice!!

for me i seem to mirror most peoples opinions here in that i think vieri was the better all round player, but i honestly think trezeguet was/is the better finisher. i hav erarely seen anyone with treze's ability to sniff out an opening, he is pure class and i struggle to remember a better finisher

Vieri was a better player then Trezie but Trezeguet is still one of the best finishers around, Vieri is not much anymore.
How about this one: Trezeguet or v Nistelrooij ?
