Best band from each country (2 Viewers)

I hope you don't mind me posting these stupid lists in the music cathegory.

This one is pretty tough, Pick the best band from each country.

USA:
There are a million bands from USA. My favourite is pretty clear on this one, Pearl Jam. The second spot would be harder. I think CCR would come second followed by Guns n' roses.

Jamaica:
There is really only one band from this place, The Wailers.

England:
This is the toughest one. This country produces so many great bands. Oasis is the first band that comes to my mind. The Verve, Rolling stones, The Beatles and Coldplay are others. I am also a big fan of Elton John so this needs some thinking.
Oasis wins this one, Beatles are too old and Coldplay are too new. Verve made some great songs but not too many. Elton John is really, really close behind.

Ireland:
U2, not much thinking about that one.

Sweden:
Ebba Grön is my favourite, but they sing in swedish so you have probably never heard them. Among the english speaking bands I would choose The cardigans.

Norway:
Röyksopp is the only good band from this tiny music nation

Mexico:
Santana is number one here.

Spain:
Gypsy Kings are not only Spanish but I see them as a spanish band.

Canada:
Alanis Morrissette is Canadian, right?


Germany:
A country with 80 million citizen but they haven't got a single artist I like. No Idon't like kraftwerk

Denmark:
Just like Germany they seem to have a problem with music, Aqua and Olsen Brothers are not really good enough.

Italy:
Eros Ramazotti :undecide:


This was a lot harder than I thought. You have to help me out on this one.

Anyhow, I am pretty mainstream when it comes to music. But that doesn't bother me.

did i get you right? i like radiohead because i want to be special? noo man, i like them because they play f*cking good stuff. i do not spit on oasis, they're quite cool, but nowhere near two i mentioned. alanis is byfar the best songwriter in the world.
i agree with you on some bands but openminded enough to accept that radiohead and blur are really great artists, you can dislike them but you have to accept they are great.

I was being somewhat sarcastic, but it is a common problem that people listen to a certain type of music only to be special. But you are not exactly special if you listen to Radiohead.

I am still waiting for China, Russia and India. You will find half of the worlds population there so it shouldn't be too hard to find a decent musician there. :cap:

Good choices there Zambrotta. For the USA I would have added The Strokes and The Dandy Warhols.

I like Blur and but their albums, though I don't think they're as good as Radiohead or Oasis, probably the 2 best bands of the 90s.
