We don't need any TQ this season

- - - Updated - - -

Both Gazzetta and Sky write Gundogan is our main midfield target.

It's pretty clear we won't do any major business in January. And considering the prices will be high in the summer market we're probably trying to act as early as possible and discuss and see if a deal for Gundogan is possible for the summer.
I agree with you that we most likely won't do any major business this january, hence a TQ will not arrive (if somehow a TQ arrives i think it will be Nasri). Pereyra is coming back from injury as well and he can cover that position.

But we all know Allegri came into this club with the mindset of slowly converting this team to 4-3-1-2. Remember, 4-3-1-2 got us to the Champions League finale last year, that was never going to happen with 3-5-2. The ceiling with a regular back 4 is what we achieved last year. The problem for Allegri is the injuries, he never has a group of players available to play 4-3-1-2 over a long stretch of games, so for now he's just given up on that.

Another thing, the 4-3-1-2 last year was super effective as a counter attack style football once Morata got integrated into that team. Him and Tevez were deadly on the counter and when we had possession in stretches they were extremely effective as direct targets and didn't slow down the pace. I don't know how Mandzukic would fit into that kind of system if we want to play like we did from february and out last season. Dybala and Morata could do it with Pereyra behind them, we'll see.

I know it will not happen, but: Bernardeschi :tuttosport:

He developed soooo fjucking well. Berna can play on the left and right wing and '10 position. He plays at Fiorentina even as wingback and he fills it way better in than Cuadrado. He will fit in both system 3-5-2 as wingback and 4-1-2-1-2 as AM.

Kid is rumoured to both Bayern (Ancelotti) and Barca a little. Can you imagine what Viola would ask from us.

Has he regained his quickness, speed and agility ?
Seems to be moving as well as I've ever seen him. Agile, but I've never thought of him as especially pacey. 30M isn't nearly enough for him.

Gotto love how people are pressing that 352 is just temporary.
It would be good to be well equipped to field both 3-5-2 and 4-3-1-2, with quality in every possible position including a new trequartista. We're only one CM and one AM off.

Happy to hear about Gundogan. I was a massive fan before his injury, but when he got so fat, i feared it would compromise his agility and quickness, he's a very fast accelerating player, not top speed, but he is very quick of the mark.

I agree we should look to different formations, but thats not what they are saying here. They are acting like the 352 is neccecary evil, and they are devastated by this, and the 4312 is the light at the end of the putrid tunnel, so they make that AM the absolute priority.

I disagree. The formation is what it is. It works. We should buy players that suit the 352 first, but look at versatility to go a different formation. if we buy a player who can play AM, well then preferably he should also be able to play CM.
Pereyra is actually a great player in this regard. its why i'm okay with Oscar rumors. Gundogan fits both.

It's been a while since I went Rakib in this thread but of @Osman can do it why can't I:

Buffon
Licht-Bonucci-Chiellini-Sandro
Pogba-Gundogan-Marchisio
Berardi-Dybala
Morata

Bench: Neto, Barzagli, Rugani, Evra, RB*, Khedira, Stuaro, Banega, Zaza, Mandzukic, Cuadrado, Pereyra, Lemina, Rubinho

Out: Caceres, Asamoah**, Padoin, DC, Hernanes,

RB*: Can't think of anyone
Asamoah**: I still think we should sell while we can, I don't think he will ever be nearly the same. Might be wrong. I'll let the club decide this one :p
