Who was better than Tevez this season? Marchisio and Bonucci are definitely candidates, but Tevez was by some distance our best and most important player. No doubt at all IMO.

 exactly what I said. They did the exact opposite of what we are doing.
I think in the bigger scheme of things, Vidal is the bigger loss is what I meant. And I think it adds to the point we discussed earlier. If you've already lost your seasons MVP, then why would you let go of another important pillar? I think I'd mentioned this earlier this summer, that the worry is, that Vidal became disposable to Allegri because he started viewing him as our AM instead of Adam where he probably feels Khediras signing would provide adequate cover.

Although, I've got to admit that Vidal is the last player I'd imagine in Guardiolas set up. He's more likely to flop in that set up than find anywhere close to his best form again, like the level of his Juve years.
He will not flop, his role will be to recover the ball and immediately pass it to a near team mate.

It was a finger pointed at Arturo for leaving, it's a cunty move and just goes to show that loyalty is definitely a thing of the past in football.

I think him leaving is a huge deal and will be felt next season, regardless of how well we spend the money. One of a kind.

Nizzy puffing the truth.

It could be a combination of factors on why Vidal is being sold, from

1) Allegri wants a #10 and is willing to have Vidal sold to fund it
2) Management thinking his best days are behind him due to his injuries/form
3) The drink driving incident in Chile
4) Vidal himself wanting to go to a club he feels has a better chance to win CL

Who knows the exact reason. Hope we find out soon.

Oh yeah. Not saying he wont be a big loss. But would have been a bigger loss if we sold him a year or two ago when he was definitely better than what he is now.

Did you just found that out? :D And there are people who believe what this or that player said when it's nothing more than the same old generic talk "I love this club... I'm here to win... Blahblahblah..."

They're all full of shit nowadays. They're all mercenaries.

So why the fuck are you so calm about it, if you realise that it's going to be a big loss for us? People in this thread are going about like it ain't no thing that we just lost perhaps the most important player of the 2011- juventus era.

Because in the grand scheme of things, I know everything gon' be alright. I trust this management and I think they know what they are doing. They've certainly proven plenty of people wrong over the years. Benefit of the doubt, my nizzy.

I guess I was hoping that Vidal was proving those assumptions wrong. Juve tats everywhere, fighting like a maniac on the pitch etc, it all took me back to a time in football that I liked much better.

I am going to break this down for you a little more simply.

A) Tevez and Pirlo left the club this season. Selling another pillar of the team in this season is not the brightest way forward.

B) Given the inevitability of a Pogba sale, Vidal is the player should have held on to seeing as he is also the one who has been more integral to the teams cause in the last four seasons here. Next year, when Pogba is gone we are building that midfield from scratch around Marchisio.

C) Even if it is the player who asked to be sold here, you don't go and undersell him, especially given that the AM you intend to replace him with is going to cost you a little more on top of revenue you generate.

D) A move like this does not suggest a big club mentality to buying teams and the players on the team as well. You hold on to your best players especially after you come out and say that you will be doing that.

So before you go out and call this knee jerking, look out for the meaning of the word. And don't come about here and tell me that $#@! happens in cycles. The cycle you are referring to is Tevez and Pirlo leaving. And bringing in new blood. Not selling a 28 year old player in his prime, who is integral to the cause and until a month ago had come out and said he wanted to see out his career at the club. That is not how you renew a cycle when you're aiming to win the CL.

I also fail to understand how it makes a bunch of fans spoiled brats to be against a sale that was absolutely not needed in the first place, while in everybody's own admittance, including Marrotta's, that the Mercato was done and dusted. Clearly, all the titles you're trying to keep a count of, in your mind are solely attributed to the work of the management exclusively. And probably Conte doesn't deserve any credit for it, because hey we won even after he left.

Things go up and down. But you don't bring it upon yourself where it's not needed, especially when you don't operate in certain market conditions, the way we do. Making shrewd moves without buying for big money. Everything is not about the management or the board being right.

Everything is about perspective. Get some, before you come out here and stereotype somebody's opinion.

That is the likely outcome. Although 35m is not buying us both, only the AM. The Lb probably comes from the Llorente and Isla sales and becomes imperative coz it will mean moving Asa to midfield. And the AM to me should be no less than a Gotze or Isco. Anything less would be seriously underwhelming IMO.
Fully agreed.

If Vidal requested to leave, we should be putting in an auction and sell him only for 45M +.

If we sell him for 40M we'll still be underselling, but not heavily though.

Of course we will be fine in the grand scheme of things. Stop repeating banalities man.
