The long-running transfer saga is almost at an end, with Juve winning the race for the dynamic midfielder, who was also courted by Bayern Munich, among others. Vidal revealed that he is eagerly anticipating the move.

"I am happy, this is a big and important step in my career. I take a lot of experience with me from Germany and I know that I can achieve a lot with Juventus," he told Bild before boarding the flight to Turin.

The deal began to near completion yesterday when Bayer Leverkuen sporting director Rudi Voller travelled to Italy for negotiations. The 24-year-old, who can operate in defence or midfield, will sign a five-year deal and earn around €3 million a season, according to Bild.

Italian publication Tuttosport reported yesterday afternoon that Juventus will pay €10.5m up front, which could rise to €12m. 30 per cent of the transfer fee is due to be paid to Vidal's former club Colo-Colo.

Leverkusen were unwilling to sell their prized asset to rivals Bayern Munich, and with the Chilean's contract up in June 2012, they decided to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing.

It used to be like this with the old forum. Ever since we moved to this one, it seems that we can pick which thread to be as the main page/starter. When I emerged Dp thread I had two options and I kept Chxta's one as the main one and emerged gray's 2nd thread with Chx.
Alright. That sounds good, you know better, MOD.

Arturo Vidal can’t wait to complete his move from Bayer Leverkusen to “one of the greatest clubs in Europe.”

The Chilean is now only a medical away from signing for Juventus after Bayer accepted a €10.5m offer on Wednesday.

“I’m enthusiastic about this new opportunity that has been handed to me,” he said in Santiago as he prepared to board a flight for Italy.

“Juventus are a club who are being reconstructed with the objective of winning the League and qualifying for Europe.

“I’m happy, this is a great step for me, this is the most important move of my career which will allow me to play for one of the greatest clubs in Europe.”

The 24-year-old joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 after a season with Colo Colo in his homeland.

“My experience in Germany will be very useful for me because it is a championship that is tactically similar to that in Italy,” he added.

Vidal was also linked with moves to Napoli and Bayern Munich this summer.
