Only slightly. Not by far, at all. But what we're lacking is one or two of those magical, decisive attacking players that the squad you posted had. We don't have a Del Piero or a Vialli anymore, nor even a Ravanelli.

I'd love to see one of our forwards score from a dead angle in such an important game as the CL final in the way that Ravanelli did.

As for Vialli, 96 was his second CL-final. He was in the final with Sampdoria as well, playing Barcelona in 1992 (the last time it was called The European Cup). A fantastic forward.

As for Del Piero; if you believe that one of our present forwards anno 2013 are in some way better than what Del Piero was in 1996, then perhaps it is you who need to "go see doctor" :D

We had Del Piero and who to blame that he is not here anymore? Not Conte?
The topic is now about the current squad, meaning who we have right now, and where we go from here.

And it is also about whether or not it is right of Conte to demand more from the club.

And the :sergoi: to wrap it up. Typical.
What the point to discuss our squad with the guy who even don't know that we've spent more than 100m euro in the 11/12 season and more than 50m euro in the last summer, so with Conte as head coach we've spent more than 150m , what more can i say? he want us to spent 150m per summer or what?

Did you even read my posts, RUS? :boh:

I didn't talk numbers at all, and I definitely did not suggest that we should overspend like crazy. I'm also well aware of how much we've spent during the past seasons.

I did, who to blame that Conte didn't use a lot of players and didn't change the formation anymore to adapt to opponent? who to blame that we are not versatile anymore? who to blame that he rotate forwards a lot, even if when one of them is on fire? who to blame that all of our forwards are underperforming in current season? Who to blame that interview after interview he is saying a lot of bullshit?

1. Conte has used a lot of players this season. He has also had the balls to, in a title-chasing season, introduce a 19 year old player on a regular basis in an attempt to groom him into a first team player. He has utilized most of our playing squad.
2. That we are not "versatile anymore" is up for debate; that has not been proven. Yes, we have used 3-5-2 extensively this season, but based on what we've accomplished - Champions of Italy (again) and top 8 in Europe, no one can say it was a bad move. I will also add that we have used 4-3-3, although not a lot, and also 4-5-1 / 3-6-1, most recently against Lazio.
3. Like you, I haven't been in full agreement with how Conte has rotated the strikers this season. So we can agree on that. But what goes on on the training field, we know nothing about. And if you look at the amounts of goals we've scored this season, and what we've accomplished, there's no actual proof that Conte got this aspect wrong. For all we know, it was right of him to select the strikers he selected at all times. We don't have a way of knowing.
4. I don't think he talks "bullshit" in interviews. He's a straight speaker. Tells it like it is. I appreciate that.

Last time, when we won CL, we had:

GK 1 Angelo Peruzzi
CB 2 Ciro Ferrara
LB 3 Gianluca Pessotto
RB 4 Moreno Torricelli '
CB 5 Pietro Vierchowod
CM 6 Paulo Sousa
LM 7 Didier Deschamps
RM 8 Antonio Conte
CF 9 Gianluca Vialli (c)
LF 10 Alessandro Del Piero
RF 11 Fabrizio Ravanelli
Substitutions:
GK 12 Michelangelo Rampulla
DF 13 Sergio Porrini
MF 14 Vladimir Jugović
MF 15 Angelo Di Livio
FW 16 Michele Padovano

Are you telling me that our team is worse now??

As for Conte - about what he was thinking year ago when he accepted renewal 'til 2015 year? if he wasn't confident that board of directors will buy him superstars?
LOL are you fucking serious ???

HALF of the players in that team are better in controlling their area then schweinsteiger, mascherano, samuel and cambiasso would. it was a team that could murder anyone, anywere.

and you know... it had fucking 1996 del piero, who would probably set us back 5 goals if we played against that team.

Seriously rus, get the fuck away from the vodka

1. Using players out of position is not rotation, he only rotate forwards a lot, Giaccherini as CM, Isla as LWB etc. :sergio:
2. We used 352 30 times, 3511 3 times and only once 433, if you call it "versatile" than okay :sergio:
3. Look at the stats of every attacker from our squad - they are regressed.(Except Qtube, but he was after injury) And if he dislike them, why the hell we re-sign their contracts 'til 2016?
4. "We are outsiders", We are construction site", "Conte the professional wants to stay, Conte the man wants to think about future", "I feel like leaving Italy", "Scudetto, then my future" - what kind of future, you have contract until 2015 year, what the fuck are you talking about?!

CL winning juventus has allways been described as an exceptionally rigid team, that won the duels all over the field, completely shut down opponent creativity. the players from that selection.... SO MUCH duelpower. You have no idea
