Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he made a mistake by selling Thierry Henry to Arsenal when he was Juventus boss. Henry only spent six months in Turin, making little impact in his time there, before going on to become an Arsenal legend. “Arsene Wenger turned him into one of the world's best strikers,” said Ancelotti. “The only error I made was not to see him immediately as a striker. I think about that sometimes now, of course. I only had three months coaching Henry. I saw he had talent but he was playing as a wide midfielder. Personally, I wouldn't have let him go if it had been down to me alone.”

Because Ancelotti IS stupid :D
No. Ancelotti WAS stupid :p

He then had the straight-jacket of Sacchi's footballing ideas controlling him. Henry was his second mistake after releasing Zola at Parma. They turned to be two of the greatest players in EPL history.

Would Ancelotti let a player as talented as that escape him now? Maybe but I'd say there is more chance a Capello or Mourinho would. Ancelotti footballing philosphy has changed since then. A coach who managed to create harmony with a Milan team consisting of Rivaldo, Rui Costa, Seedorf, Pirlo and then later Kaka and utilising strikers such as Inzaghi and Crespo isn't the same man.

Here comes Ancelotti's biggest fan. His success is opportunistic, and the trophies he won were just because he was at the right time and place.

No one can deny Ancelotti's scudetto with Milan was opportunistic in the same manner Barcelona's La Liga titles are currently. But what does titles have to do with this discussion and Henry?

Ancelotti is a changed man and the team that he has created at Milan is the envy of all teams in the World with the exception of Barcelona. He is top of Madrid's wanted list for a reason - his balance between footballing style and tactical application.

It has nothing to do with Henry's discussion, it has to do with how much Carlitto is stupid :agree:

umm.. buffon was parma's first choice keeper since 96, and cannavaro played right back even for italy before trapattoni.
