@acmilan

McDaniels/Pioli?

This, believe it or not, is what I am hearing. Ownership is insistent that there is synergy between the GM and Coach

Yes. Such a shock.

Oh my.

Wow.

Did not see this coming.
Fuck this guy, should've said I'm obviously absolutely incompetent in making football decisions. We will look for a footballing mind to lead the search for a gm and hc.

No self respecting gm or coach will take this job, they'd have to have balls the size of Conte's

New Stadium, #2 Pick in the draft, over 100 million in salary cap space. The challenge of bringing this franchise back to its glory days. I would say the same for the Browns but the last time they had glory days, none of the current head coaches were probably even born yet.

And if you have a chance, go an watch the Rose Bowl that just finished. If Sam Darnold comes out next year in 2018 as a 20 year old, THAT is the type of quarterback that you mortgage the future for.

I watched most of it, he seems solid. A new gm and hc will want to make their mark, we will draft a qb this year. Watson or Trubisky or whatever their names are, with no o line its a recipe for disaster.

Do you guys expect whatever coach that decides to take the chance of coaching the niners to do well enough that he doesn't get fired within a year? Because I don't.

I think that because they have to hire a new GM, and they want both of them to work together, that the new coach won't be just a one year hire, especially if the GM has significant input as to who gets the coaching job. GM's never, ever get fired after one year, or two years for that matter. They don't start feeling the hot seat until at least year 3. They get a longer rope to hang themselves with, and if the coach is tied into the GM selection, then they each get an equal amount.

Weeeow
Guess who Chip Kelly really liked at QB going into the draft?

Go ahead. Guess.

And there is no guarantee that said player would have been a success, but it speaks to the level of disconnect between the two, to the point where a system coach can't get the players he needs for his system from the GM.

Oh, and other 49er coaches liked him too, but Baalke refused to pick him

So fucked up, Baalke is an idiot. I wanted Dak as well, we took two corner backs. Round 3 was Redmond and 4 was Robinson. I really liked Robinson in the draft, character slider with all the traits to become a starting NFL corner. We should've taken Dak and Robinson, we probably could've gotten all 3.

I don't understand how Baalke thought he could just run the show by himself, absolutely cunt of the highest order.

I wanted Dak as well if you go back to a couple of days before the draft started. I thought 2nd round if they traded back or with their 3rd pick. He was my favorite QB in the draft.

If the Niners are hellbent on taking a QB, and they don't do something stupid such as trade up to #2 to get Goff, or even worse, take Lynch at #7, then Dak Prescott is the guy that they should look at in the 2nd or 3rd round, if they trade back.

Don't use the #7 pick in the 2nd round on him, but if they trade back, then it makes more sense.

Good point, but why fire Kelly right away? What if the new GM likes him?

And what do whoever coaches San Fran next does horrible? How likely is it that Jed will pressure the GM into firing them? Dude's a man child.

Because more often than not, the new GM wants to bring his own people in, especially in this case, where the aforementioned disconnect was toxic.

I think the difference, at least I hope the difference this time around, is that everyone in the organization realizes that this is now a total rebuild. That this wasn't like before last year, when all of the unexpected retirements were considered the catalyst for the poor record the year before. This is a complete do over, and in that case, the new coach will have to be given the time to put his stamp on the team.

Of course, if they had asked me last january, I would have been happy to tell them that they needed to blow all of this up and start over. But of course, they didn't ask :D

:D I kinda hope Jed sells the team, he's the main thing I have against the Niners haha

Multiple sources are saying that Josh McDaniels wants to coach the 49ers, on the condition that this will be a total rebuild.

Don't screw this up Jed. This is the guy I wanted after Harbaugh was let go.

Don't. Screw. This. Up.
