Amauri Carvalho de Oliveira (39 Viewers)

At what cost would you be ok with Amauri?

  • Giovinco + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + cash

  • De Ceglie + Criscito + Giovinco

  • Nocerino + Almiron + Marchionni

I have to say I couldn't disagree more. Amauri is something special, one of the world's best players right now. He shouldn't be on the top of our 'need to buy' list, as we have area's that are in a bigger need of a fix. I'd be hard-pressed to say no to signing Amauri though.
Surely you exaggerate.Amauri hasnt had any experience playing at the top level..no Internationals,no CL..Unless he proves himself at the highest levle,i think its far fetched to call him one of the best in the world right now.Putting in great performances for a midtable club isnt enough to warrant a place amongst the world's best.

He was rather poor IMO. Barzagli has to be one of the most overrated defenders in the game today.

I agree with Dominic too about Amauri, he is one hell of a player, great dribbler and scorer, I am sure we can use him on the wings too , but it's just his age, if he only was younger.. While Cassano is as good as Amauri, and younger, I would go with Cassano, just because of the age factor.

Man I agree Cassano is great talent and all but he can just affect bad on our team.He would probably help us get lots of points but he would destroy us psychically after 3 weeks.
Cassano`s brain is as same as some kid`s.He had bad childhood and I think he still didn`t recover from that. He`s way to aggressive.I bet he would be the first one to fight with coach and then later with our players.
Cassano and Amauri might have same talent but I think there`s no way to compare them.Amauri is much more professional and I am sure he would do job much better.

As for Amaur`s age he 27.I don`t think that is too much.Probably best age for some mature striker.

i am scared that if cassano leaves samp he will return to old ways, he seems to like it there and really fits in well and likes the coach. this is important for a player like him. afterall he did signal he was staying after his great goal on the weekend

I think Amauri is 29 or 28 already, about Cassano I think that is all past, he got matured he is not the same idiot he was in Roma. Cassano admitted it himself that he has learned from his mistakes and he wants to give himself 100% to football.

He`s still 27yo...in 3 months he`ll be 28.Everyone said the same when he came to Mardid tho.

...and yet, he still repeats them...he will never grow up, its too late!
I think that too.

When was the last time you saw a Cassano outburst since the Fiorentina game?
He is still very nervous but he's trying to control the anger.
Against Genoa, only 10 days ago, whenever the ref would have given a call against him he was putting his hand in his mouth (and bitting it) just so he won't start screaming.
It worked fine because he managed to stay calm and even assist the goal at the end.

You used the right word.Trying.

He never tried before, and i have no doubts in my mind that he's finally turned a corner after wasting almost 2 years of his career.

Anyway,back to Amauri.

nobody else think amauri and iaquinta are too similar? most folk say no to huntelaar since he is a trez clone but amauri's attributes are much like vinny's

Palermo will never get that amount anyways. They just throw out a number to scare competition/raise hype and value. Oldest trick in the book.

imo 15 million is a reasonable price.

Amarui is more Technical than Iaquinta though. and Iaquinta's play one game miss 2 cycle is annoying. Plus Palla is useless and Del Piero is not a machine. Amauri/DP, Amauri/Iaquinta, Amuari/Trez all look awesome and effective as opposed to a Trez/Huntelaar.

imo inter will get amauri. They have the funds to pay whatever price. They could need another striker (cresp seems to be 'unhappy' too), and they definately need italian players, should that nationality-rule be applied... seems like good arguments to me. I'm pretty sure he'll do a decent job, wherever he goes. not outstanding, but decent
