Zampa: Four in for Amauri

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that there is healthy competition to sign star striker Amauri.

The Brazilian hitman is one of the hottest properties in Italy at the moment and he will be leaving Sicily in the summer for a bigger club.

Juventus, Milan and Barcelona are believed to be interested in the former Chievo man, but they are expected to need around £12m to secure Zamparini’s most prized asset.

It is Amauri’s right to leave at the end of the season,” the Rosanero chief explained on Radio Kiss Kiss.

“It wouldn’t be right to try and keep him here when he knows he has big clubs interested in him. At the moment there are four sides that have approached us.”

Juve In Pole Position For Amauri

Juventus are the favourites to sign Amauri, according to Tuttosport, however Palermo President Maurizio Zamaparini has warned them to get a move on.

Brazilian hitman Amauri will leave Palermo at the end of the season, and yesterday it was revealed that four big European clubs are vying for his signature.

Juventus are known to be one of these four clubs and Zamparini has hinted in the past that he prefer to do business with them.

"There's at least four major clubs interested in him," said Zamparini.

"However if Juventus want him, they had better get a move on."

According to Tuttosport the reason Zamparini is so keen to sell Amauri to Juventus is due to the players he could obtain as part of an exchange deal.

The fiery businessman would like Raffaele Palladino, however the youngster has made it perfectly clear that he has no intention of moving to Sicily.

Instead Juve are prepared to offer Manuele Blasi and Marcelo Zalayeta, who are both currently spending this season at Napoli.

The Uruguayan has been in particularly impressive form for the Partenopei this term, although he has struggled a bit of late.

I like Amauri but I do not wished any one of our current 4 strikers to leave in order to make way for him.

IMO ... Milan don't need him either as they usually play wif 1 striker wif Kaka supporting.
There's Inzaghi (who seems able to go on and on)
Pato, Gilardino and their newly found italian starlet (cant rem his name)

and Gila is not capable enough for Milan to challange for CL, trust me they need Amauri...Inzaghi is fading and will continue to...Ronaldo is injured and as if he was ever crucial...

That leaves Pato, who's not a targetman and Paloschi who might not be ideal in certain times where maturity is needed...

Zamparini Opens Amauri Auction

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is tempting Europe’s big spenders to come out and try to lure Amauri away from the Renzo Barbera.

After spending the last few months trying to play down talk of a transfer for the Brazilian, Zamparini now appears to be fanning flames by claiming he will not stand in the striker’s way.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid Juventus and Milan have all been linked to the 27-year-old, who has scored nine goals this season and has been a revelation since arriving at the Sicilian club from Chievo Verona in 2006.

Zamparini stuck a €25 million (£18 million) price tag on Amauri’s head, and then told chasing clubs he will operate on a first come first served basis.

The Palermo chief has already pulled a similar stunt during the January transfer window when he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport: “Amauri will go to the highest bidder.”

However the president seems to have admitted defeat when it comes to convincing the player to stay at the Rosanero.

"I will not be able to keep Amauri here," admitted Zamparini. "He is worth €25 million and other clubs offer him three times his current wages.

"Whoever comes first with an offer will get him." Amauri’s current deal expires in 2010 but it seems as he is likely to leave at the end of the season. The big striker has himself admitted in the past that he would like to remain in Italy.

it's the logic talking man. We need a real "Prima Punta" for the future. Balotelli? :D

Like I always said, The Hunter or Gomez.

Gomez like the one as Mario Gomez?

i think they both have a great potential to be added to the squad but i think we are better of with a shorter but faster player like Aguero to add more depth to our attack.

yes

The depth needed in our front line is a target man IMO. DP, Iaquinta and Palladino can cover one part and we only have Trez as a natural poacher.

Aguero would cost like 40-50m €. :(

IF we get Amauri, would that mean the end of Del Piero? Well atleast in the starting XI. Because we're not gonna spend 25m on a benchplayer no matter how stupid Secco is.
