Manninger: «I am happy with my season»

At the end of the season when the time of reckoning comes, one will just have to thanks Alexander Manninger. The Austrian goalkeeper, who arrived in Turin in August, was one of the great protagonists. Having found himself at the centre of attention after the injury suffered by Buffon, he played his part as best he could, contributing to the long victorious run, the latest of which against his former team Siena.
Now with Gigi ready to go, Manninger will have to give up his place, however always ready to return to the role of protagonist. «Today, once on the field I did not think of playing against my former team. Siena played a great match and caused us difficulties. I am happy with this victory and of what I was capable of doing during this period. 2008 was a really fantastic year for me. When I played for Siena we had a great championship managing to avoid relegation way before the end of the season. Then came my transfer to Juventus and I had the opportunity to play quite a bit including some very important matches like the one against Real Madrid. I have had many more opportunities then I had expected but the season is still very long and there will be others».

first big mistake ... plus it wasnt really his fault... ledesma was fucking lucky, as if he meant that to go in ...forza alex!
It was his mistake. He had a large gap in front of him and didn't need to come out of goal... and did at the moment of the kick, catching him off-guard.

He's been nervy on set pieces -- coming in from the sides in particular. We've known that all season.

But he's been almost as good as Abbiati for us, and Abbiati had Cannavaro.
