Amauri was the better player during his first six months here. Fact.
Amauri also had Camoranesi and Nedved as well as a (slightly) younger Del Piero playing alongside him. The Juve of 08/09 coached by Ranieri was a lot better than the Juve of 10/11 coached by Delneri. FACT.

How many goals did Amauri score for us in 10/11 (In Serie A) with the same players around him that Matri had? A big fat 0. Nada. Niente. Sweet fuck all.

So now the argument here is that Amauri is a better and more effectve striker than Matri? ROFL. Whatevz.

We're not getting paid to look for players, thats what our supposed scouts should do.

By the way, Arsenal are pretty close to sign Gervinho for 13 millions but i guess Matri is "much" better talent.
And? Can we offer him what Arsenal can? Would he even want to come to Juve knowing Arsenal has a large French speaking contingent and a French coach (and also a few African players?)

And to be honest his stats arent that impressive anyway, actually they are almost similar to Matri's but in a generally weaker league.

Namechecking is easy because it's impossible to justify other than to say 'he is better', they might indeed be better but we are talking about a fit for Juventus. Matri's value is based on his form, his age, his nationality and his position.

Amauri was the better player during his first six months here. Fact.
your ego diminishes the output of your mind...for you do have SOME useful knowledge of football, yet you make so many posts seem like a divine proclamation....and therin lies WHY so many posters find you a prick.

Amauari was the better player. fact?????

idiot...fucking idiot...how can you feel so damn righteous to suggest such things, then add to the end...'fact'????

Amauri in his first six months at Juve did not in any way seem more useful as a prima punta than Matri...i won't add 'FACT', instead add 'in my opinion'....the team behind him was better than what matri had to deal with, it was more fluid, more confident, and made things much easier for amauri to play the tap-in merchant. What failed Amauri, was his mentality. He came into a very solid team, well versed, cohesive...yet Matri came into a bedraggled team, lacking confidence, lacking cohesion, and surely, to anyone with a half functioning brain...proved himself a solid prima punta/././now go ahead, Kuntlipped bjerkness.,..make some snide comment on whatever i am smoking, and feel flattered by the comments of the sycophants that follow...'nice one , Andy//./you powned him...and now i would love to suk your cok...please'...

you call yourself a juventino, but you are nothing more than a Kunt who asserts knowledge of ALL football...of ALL leagues...basicaly. you seem wanton for virtual cressing of your virtual balls...

Amauri was the better player during his first six months here. Fact.

well done, Cato...play the idiot, and defend your spastic honour...you seem far from interested in decent debate, rather...eager to proclaim FACT. What kind of fool suggests opinion as fact???? answer me that...but i doubt you can do so with numbers, without insults, without some worthy of your rep as prime kunt tirade of 'he smokes marijuana so his opinion is negligible'...i was following Juve when you were sucking your mother's tit...

There might be a lot of strikers out there that are better than Matri, but would all of them fit well in Juventus and especially Serie A if they played in another league? There is no guarantee, I think Matri functions well in this Juve and delivers on a regular basis, no need to change him out.

Matri deserves to be bought. he was fantastic. we cannot not sign players in fear they will pull an Amauri. We had to overpay somewhat due to the terms in which we bought him.

Nothing definitive, of course, but go back and read Amauri's thread up until page 40 (depending on your forum settings) or the end of December. It'll give you at least some sense of what Amauri was doing; his impact, his promise and so forth, comparative to Matri, even accounting for forum hyperbole. Amauri, during that time frame, was an absolute monster. He was touted as "transfer of the year", subject to reports of Real having an enormous offer refused, described as the fundamental player of the team by Ranieri, it goes on and on. Your branding him as a "tap-in merchant" is way off-base. So much so that I have to question whether or not you even watched all our games. He was doing everything up front for us. Running at players, tying up multiple defenders at once, opening the pitch - just being a total menace. He had strength, pace, trickery, aerial ability, you name it. I mean, the Milan game sums up those six months. It really did look like we had signed a world-class player. At least that was the general consensus. That it all went to hell shortly afterward doesn't take away from that.

Matri, while having a very good half-season for us, albeit with a worse team, has never gotten such plaudits. Rightfully so, too, as he's never been as dominant as Amauri was within our overall attacking play.

I think that also might be due to the fact that he came in during a time Juve was facing a lull and were off the general pace of things. The optimism surrounding the team and it's players was never going to be more than it ended up being. Amauri also got some Champions league action to help his stature which Matri didn't get. I'd say Matri's game also seems less destined to fail, since he will be filling the void Trez left which means playing in the box and closer to goal.
