Talented central midfielder who is quite complete for his age. Good passer, hard-working and likes to run into the box and get involved in the attack. Has a long way to go before actually playing for us, though.

Did I mention I have played against him? :p

Juventus Beat Inter And Arsenal To New Ibrahimovic:weee:

According to cronacaqui.it, the Bianconeri are on the verge of signing Sweden's new phenomenon, who has been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to his physical qualities.

According to reports coming from Italy, young Swedish attacking midfielder Albin Ekdal is in Turin for his medical.

If the negotiations - in their final stages - go through, and he is cleared by the doctors, he will join the Italian giants next summer.

The move will not take place this winter in order to allow Ekdal to finish his studies by May, but the paperwork is set to be completed this week itself to ward off other big teams.

The 18-year-old, who is 186cm tall, will join the Old Lady from IF Brommapokarna, where he debut in April this year. He has played 15 games since.

Other clubs - including Inter, Arsenal, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven - are also after his signature, but Turin seems to be his most likely destination now.

The Bianconeri will pay the Swedish club just over 1 million euros.

- Completely sick, a dream I never thought would come true, says the super talent Albin Ekdal to DN.

The contract will be 4 or 4 and a half years long.

There are some details remaining, but I think the transfer will go through, says Albin who hasn't even seen the contract.

-They tell me that they see potential. They think that I could become a good footballer in the future and that I suit the Serie A more than the Swedish league.

What was your reaction when Juventus contacted you?
- It felt unreal. Now it's just really fun.

What expectations do you have?
- Of course I'm not going to be in the starting lineup. We'll see how it goes, they're buying me and they see something special.

If you can't find a place in Juventus, will you be sent on loan?
- That was the thought from the first beginning. But after a year of practicing with the team perhaps I could take another step. They probably hope that as much as I do.

Albin has to go through a medical examination in Turin before joining Juventus. Next week, he's going through a surgery for his right foot.

Can this be an advantage or disadvantage for him??

By the way, is he Turkish or Albanian originally?? His name can't be Swedish.
Albin Ekdal is a Swedish as it gets. Both the first name and his surname. ;)

I faced him in the indoor school district championship two years ago. His school beat mine 4-0 or 4-1. I didn't know him then, but there was a lot of buzz going on about one of their players. Can't remember if he made an impact or not.
