I know people aren't going to like this, but we are really missing Rabiot right now. We don't have anyone in midfield other than Koop who can drive the ball forward. And please don't mention David Luiz, Adrien is like Didier Deschamps compared to the beach turd.

Thuram isn't anywhere near that level yet though. Similar player, yes.
Rabiot is definitely a better player than Thuram currently. There is a reason why Deschamps consistently calls up Rabiot and not Thuram.

I wouldn't say Thuram is miles off though, mainly because I don't rate Rabiot that highly. But we need to be aiming to have players better than Rabiot in both the short term (i.e. not starting Thuram) and long term (targeting Thuram to develop into a better player).

That just means we miss a backup player though, not Rabiot.

To say "I miss Rabiot" is to say "I really miss that gallon of 17 year old expired milk that I threw out" when you just have to go to the store to get a new one.

No we definitely made the correct decision in not giving this clown 10mil a year or whatever he wanted
we offered 7m net which would have been ~2-3m more than thuram's wages and amortization

now he's playing for much less and we have to deal with thuram. i didn't like rabiot and his attitude was infuriating at times but he was clearly a superior player

At the same point we should have kept Chiesa! These players overvalued themselves and asked the salary they didn't deserve. At the maximum Rabiot deliver decent performance 10 out of 30 matches a year and he never perform consistently. The another point is he relies on the work of others and not a top player or a game changer so not worth paying the salary he demanded.

Tuz July 2024: Fuck Rabiot and his wage demands!

Tuz October 2024: Rabiot could have been useful, he's superior player compared to some of our midfielders.

Tuz January 2025: Damn, that 4th place is slipping away. Why didn't that pretentious fraud Motta tried to keep Rabiot?
