Perruzzi was our keeper when I first became a Juve fan, so I have very fond memories of the guy :touched:

Yes, its 96/97. The season where Vialli and Ravanelli left and sort of gamble on Vieri and Amoruso ... It pay off nonetheless. The strike force that year was DP, Padovano, Vieri, Amoruso and Boskic.

We absolutely thrashed PSG in the 2-legged European Super Cup and won the World Club Cup that year.

Correct me if i rem wrongly.

greate old picture

I loved Peruzzi, amazing keeper and a beast of a man. He was a true leader as well.

If i remember rightly Peruzzi was in the Italy squad 2006 and was a key part of the squad even though he never played. I remember he was hailed after the tournament for his leadership skills and keeping up morale.

Peruzzi was a true champion who should never be forgotten :juventus:

As a goalkeeper myself, during my teen-years (the 1990s) Angelo Peruzzi was my first real idol. I had his posters on my wall.

In 2007 when Lazio visited Dubai for some friendly matches, I literally went out of my way just to meet him. I attended the Lazio games, and just stared at him, without watching the game. Even though it was a simple friendly, I was just in shock and awe, seeing my hero standing in front of me...can't describe it.

When the team bus arrived after midnight to the hotel, famous names literally walked just a few meters next to me, and I didn't even care...Oddo, Rocchi, Pandev, Simone Inzhaghi all walking together......I said buonasera, but they ignored me.

Eventually a tired looking old man got off the bus, totally not in the mood. There he was walking so peacefully very slow-paced. I walked towards him ecstatic (lol) gave him a piece of paper and my marker pen, signed an autograph, then some Lazio fans approached I'm like, "Hold my camera take a picture of us!!!" stood next to him, *click*. Shook his hand. Then I assisted the Lazio fan take his photo lol....

And as he walked away I said, "Sono Juventino!" to which he turned around and shrugged with a smile and said "Heh.."

I continued, "Grazie per nuovanta(sp) sei!" (thank you for 1996!). And he waved, nodded/smiled and walked off.

Yeah I think posted my story before here on Juventuz, felt like writing it again. :)
