    I don't think it's been so terrible -- that's where I'm coming from. Though I agree on the cost-benefit part. The Real Madrids should often come out on the losing end by spending like drunken sailors on shore leave for players past their prime.

    That's my point. The objectives are different. We could land a bunch of great players in one year, but that's meaningless if they're all on the bench and we spend the season languishing for lack of any real starters or depth at a position that becomes our Achilles Heel in the standings later on...
