He hadn't played in a long while and no minutes since restart. Most players of most teams looked shid in their first game. Doesn't mean same Rugani performance wouldn't have happened even with minutes but at least he has an excuse unlike Bonucci.

Knowing Allegri, next season will be Benatia-Chiellini again. And the season after can very well be Benatia-Caldara. That's the ideal stopper-sweep combo.

Only way playing Caceres vs Verona makes sense is if it has to do with the mercato or Caceres staying for the remainder of the season. Otherwise, it was a complete wtf level decision to bench Rugani, the kind that saw Coman on the bench with Matri playing last season.
