I mean the choice is obvious right? A few weeks in Patagonia without lifting, drinking wine (and those pisco/calafate sours), and eating rich, heavy food and a 255 bench OR…… a 280 bench.

Trying to get back slowly. Was in great shape in late 2022, but this year wasn’t great from a fitness standpoint. I gained like 15 pounds after I stopped hiking, running and going to the gym. Going down again slowly, but I want it to be a sustainable process, not a yo-yo thing.

I love my Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 3’s. Best running shoes I’ve ever had.

No treadmill/elliptical or running. But I try to play one sport (mostly tennis) and either one swim or a hike every week.

Good luck bro. I love Deadlifts but I’m also always terrified of them.

Also 10 reps at 70% is not equal to 7 reps at 100%. The latter is way harder (impossible, even). Just because you do 1000 reps at very low intensity doesn't mean that its better than doing 500 reps at high intensity.

For the first approach, How do you know what you're actual strength is if you're only going at 70% all the time? I'm not a buff dude, but I've seen way better results with my strength and physique when I pushed myself.

Good luck.If you're feeling better, go for it. I cut out juices and soda (still drink them once in a while), that's pretty much the only restriction I imposed on my diet.

The optimal diet is the one you can consistently stick to in order to achieve your fitness/lifestyle goals. For different people that might mean different things. Personally I could never go on a ketogenic diet or become a vegan. I'd live a miserable life if I was on either one of these diets...

Unless you’re into lifting weights or a professional athlete, BMI is a pretty good indicator. And let’s be honest, most Americans with a 30+ BMI aren’t powerlifters.

:agree: I don't understand this recent fad of running half-marathons and marathons. Sure it's a great achievement and boosts your ego, but it doesn't do much for your physique and takes a terrible toll on your knees

Unfortunately, you can’t spot reduce fat and love handles are the hardest to get rid off. You will have to bring down your body fat level by improving your diet.

I’m only getting into squatting with barbells in the past couple of months. Would you recommend getting a pair of lifting shoes? Do they make a significant difference in performance over the long term? My left foot is pretty flat, and I have difficulty with balance and power on the concentric...

I have a hard time controlling myself when it comes to pizza, If eat a slice, I gotta have 3-4. You're right about Dominos being bad though, I only get it cause some of their deals are super cheap.

I didn't think pizzas were bad until I saw that a large Domino's pizza (which really isn't that big) has approx. 2500 calories.
