I don't think the incident was surprising at all. There are plenty of people in this country, and many are the type who would do military service, who don't value the lives of "ragheads" in the Middle East. Incidents like this are a part of war too. You can't really judge the U.S. military...

Was there something about the banks in the original leaks? I remember there was leaked information about credit card companies but I didn't hear about any banks.

I still don't see what the big deal over the leaks is anyway. From what I've seen they are mostly stuff that was already obvious and embarrassing foreign policy decisions that are only going to hurt relations with other countries. Good to know.

What is with your sudden faith in the average American? I agree that the government should be much more transparent than it is, especially with how they spend public money and on economic matters, but to a certain degree. International relations is something that I think we should be more tight...

So we should just be completely transparent? I doubt any government on the planet is that way nor should they be. Governments have secrets, this isn't anything new and its certainly not going away. Isn't the whole point of a government to control the dumb and ignorant masses not the other way...
