he's alright, nothing more. I have no idea why he is playing when we have Appiah, Tacchinardi AND Davids all out of the lineup.

I know, I didn't say he wasn't, but one good defensive midfielder is not so tough to play around when you have a crap one with him.

4 years ago is ages. He's older now, less match fit and slower. Playing well against Real Madrid id not the ultimate for a central midfielder. IF a defender plays well against them its something special, but Real's central midfield has Makelele and either Guti (out of position) or Flavio (crap)...

Well I don't see him going over to US and not playing, if he's there, I would expect him to play in the supercoppa. Oded, I know he was ok against Real, but awful against Man U in the delle alpi. The physical style and quick pace of the english game doesn't suit him at all.

I don't know about you but I always worry when i see Conte in the team, and Fresi as a rightback looks a bit dangerous. Is Thuram back in time for the super cup??

you have a point of course, but eventually we still lost, oh and I'm a natural pessimist anyway so :D The one thing I am liking here is the front three, Nedved, Miccoli and Di Vaio playing from the start; that could be pretty explosive with tonnes of pace and energy.

ok but I think you know what I mean. If a guy has a really good pre season and gets a chance, and isn't injured etc he should have a good season or at least a good first half. If a guy looks sluggish in pre season the chances are he will suck when the real stuff starts.

salas wasn't given a chance last year, plus he was never fully fit.

having a good pre season gives an indication of how well the player will perform in the season, so I think it does matter.

I can't see us beating manchester united anytime we play them. Thius is no different. Their game is just perfect for playing us. Especially if we start with Trez, because really we need 11 players that will try to stand a chance. How about starting miccoli + di vaio in this one.
