I'm bearing in mind that Euro 2002 was 5 years ago, and Zanetti is, according to many, in decline.

I really hope Mark77's sources are wrong... if anyone deserves a shot (and has a position to fight for that he could win), its Nocerino. Zanetti did look pretty good in B, but the increase in class might be too much for him.

Yikes... I guess the plan of action with him is to pawn him off to a mediocre Serie A/B club for a few bucks and find a better destroyer (or keep Nocerino.....)

I was really growing fond of the idea of having Nocerino, Giovinco and Marchisio as our midfielders with potential waiting to supplant a struggling veteran. I guess now we'll be lucky to have just Marchisio around this season. Anyone been keeping an eye on Tacchinardi? Has he lost anything...
